I just played a game yesterday as Clown with Cigar Box against a squad (2 swapped to p100 last second and sent us to Haddonfield). 3 out of the 4 had “Distortion”, so it was an absolute waste of a add on. Even with the 1 that didn’t run it, I still got ZERO value out of it. I ran Rapid Brutality, STBFL, Pop and Pain Res. I 4k’ed them with 3 gens remaining. 10 hookings overall and they actually had the audacity to talk bad upon me for using Cigar Box…..an add on THAT I GOT ZERO VALUE OUT OF 😂😂😂😂. I really wished I would’ve just used flask of bleach with ether 15% and see how they would’ve liked them apples. I use those add ons the most with Clown. Cigar Box is definitely his best add on, but flask of bleach with ether 15% is probably Clown’s most cruel add on combo 😈.

I actually have a screen shot of when a team literally made my whole kit usless as oni. They had calm, distortion, and anything else to be stealth so no screams and no aura reading I was perkless and addon less💀

15% yellows are insane, I'm having a lot of fun with clown. The sheer chase power you get from haste addons is very meta rn. Cigar box is severely affected by current distortion meta that will get even worse after ultimate weapon nerf, I recently had a game on Eyrie that was ruined by cigar box cause I couldn't find my tunneler for too long.

If not because of Distortion alone, the current meta does make running any add-on combination besides Cigar Box a lot better. This is also likely to be worse in the next patch when Ultimate Weapon is made to provide aura reading, as well.

Hi arinad, I’m pretty new to clown and I love using cigar box, but distortion counters it pretty hard. I go most games without ever seeing the auras of distortion gamers. Do you have any idea for perks that could eat through distortion stacks quickly? Gearhead perhaps?

Distortion is a hard counter for aura reading, it recharges very quickly. Hard counter means if you start taking aura perks just to "counter" distortion you just making Distortion even stronger, cuz now it made you play with 3 or less perks. Killer going all-in on aura build is a PERFECT scenario for Distortion, it becomes like SSS tier perk. You only have 2 options: 1) Hex:Plaything, because oblivious = no recharging. It's the only option from "hide terror radius" perks that actually works on practice because totem stays for minimum 90s ( -3 tokens), and if you tunnel that survivor it'll buy you just enough time, cause chased survivor can't cleanse)) And survivors will want to cleanse it cuz they want their distortion back, so it will provide some slowdown and info too, you can find them on that totem. If they have Off the Record tho your cigar box will still be useless, and OTR is a very popular perk rn. 2) Learn how to play without aura reading. It's possible and it's better for your skill growth. And you'll have stronger chase with other addons.

Gearhead is a fantastic perk for eating Distortion stacks! I'd say that's probably your best bet. There are sadly not many effective options for brute forcing the sheer stack numbers.

Lately when i play the Clown, survivors just w and leave loops to the next pallet over and over, sometimes i cant even catch them even with %3 speed addon. How is this possible and how is this fun?😑

What’s a good way to play against clown? Is it playing conservative and knowing tiles?

Count his bottle usage and try to chain tiles when you have the best opportunity! Don't try to play singular tiles (pre-dropped or not). A pre-dropped pallet is universally always safer than a non-pre-dropped pallet.
