Thanks for all the tips! I struggle with finding an audience because I am writing a memoir and or self help about my disabilities. It's a dark story and most people outside of the people like me or even certain healthcare professionals can't handle it. Any suggestions for that? Thank you.

Great question. We often suggest finding other books that are doing the same thing so you can see how they approach hard topics. Find your "book family." All these stories, including yours, is unique. But they all have the same goal of sharing a personal story in hopes to heal, educate, and help others.

I hadn't thought to put sections of my book online, I've heard that any form of self-publishing makes a book ineligible for a traditional deal.

It depends. Author Andy Weir put his book online before it was picked up and became the bestseller "The Martian." We always suggest doing your research and finding what best fits for you!

We always recommend finding someone you trust! Friends, family members, writing group. Maybe ask around your community and see if someone has experience. If not there, you could always hire one through Upwork or Fiverr.
