Are the component parts worth keeping? In the case of Isla Dawn they decided the answer was no. That doesn't suggest one way or another on what the decision was for Alba Fyre, and that Tweet/X she posted suggests she knows she's at least survived this culling.

Releases don't usually bother me, it's just a part of business, but the releases like Corbin and Davenport where they were called up just to be released feel really bad. NXT isn't just a training ground anymore, like, Ethan Page wasn't in the Rumble because he's still fire in NXT.

What if this is just part of a lateral shuffling to TNA? Because some of these names would be a big boon to TNA, AND TNA would help them. Obviously Gallows and Anderson make sense. I think Dawn, Giovani, DeVille, and Davenport would all be beneficial to have in TNA. And if this were the case, they would likely have to get rid of them in such a manor, because just letting them out of their contract, to go over with a company they have a partnership, would likely scream foul to those who govern over anti-trust issues

Kinda - Chase U We have 4 sets of tag titles in the company to prop up, folks. Remember, two singles-guys-as-a-tag-team acts walked out of Mania with the tag titles this year.

They do however now acknowledge that new Japan pro wrestling exists so That's progress. In Japan New Japan pro wrestling will always be bigger than WWE it's a national thing.

The issue is someone like isla dawn who you put the titles on, but then don't do anything with the titles really. Then release them when you need tag teams. Your current ones were just thrown together (both pairs). They should honestly just get rid of them. Now they introduce mid card title but release potential feuds? It's like Vince never left

i pity giovani, he got punked out by kaiser when imperium broke up, he disappeared, had a decent bit of hype surrounding his return, he lost twice and then went off screen, now gunther is the world heavyweight champion, kaiser is being used pretty consistently in the mid card, but vinci was jobbed out and released, i will miss isla dawn, i like her work, not shocked gallows and anderson are gone though

Giovanni Vinci's fate was sealed after allegations that he was "hitting on" Tiffany Stratton, which allegedly led to some massive heat from Tiffany's boyfriend, Ludwig Kaiser. If those rumors are true, then the squash losses to Apollo Crews and his subsequent disappearance makes a lot more sense. I have heard those rumors on other KZbin channels and on social media, so take those rumors with a grain of salt.

I'm always baffled by the reactions to these things. I would have cut every last person on the list so far. There's only so much tv time, the writing staff can only do so much. WWE is the highest level, it's weird to think that everyone there is going to succeed. I know its fashionable to blame the boss or creative, but the fact is some talent just doesnt cut it. Sonya has had YEARS to improve and never did. Dawn, every time I saw her she was botching some move. They'll all find careers elsewhere, but WWE is for the best of the best.

The only releases that confuse me are AoP and the Good Bros. I mean, who's left in the tag division? New Day, Vikings, MCMG, DIY, Judgement Day (technically though it'd have to be finn and dom) maybe Street Profits soon and i guess American Made at a stretch? that's like 7 teams, for 2 different tag divisions on 2 different shows. You need more teams and you go and release 2. Good job.

What the hell is Karrion Kross going to do without AOP & Paul Ellering? A few of the two current big story points of the Wyatt 6 & Jade Cargill are on hold- I hope they return soon.

You know, a lot of the recent releases in the last few years were people getting rehired to at least give them a shot since they never really got one or rehiring people the company originally had a lot of interest in before they gutted the rosters in 2020. Most of them haven't made much progess and the creative teams haven't found much use for. Sucks that is how their system works, if the writers have no interest in you or aren't told to find a use for you, they don't bother and you sit in catering. A lot of people who have huge upsides just get passed over I feel and that is probably disappointing.

I thought non-compete clauses were struck down by the Federal Trade Commission as illegal last year. If so, these wrestlers should be able to wrestle in the US without waiting 90 days.

From my understanding, these are actually just advance notices because the 90 days is the last 90s days of their contract. However WWE is also infamous for not caring about the law, so who knows how that works.

yep, a lot of inner workings fans have no idea about when it comes to major corporation contracts. Both are probably still on their cheap bottom level developmental contracts getting paid really little. Where as with Blair and Isla on bigger more expensive main roster deals cause they've been there for many years now. Just stuff no one thinks about cause you shouldn't have to, but know there's way more going on behind the scenes than any of us know about.

Isla Dawn is a bit of a surprise, but barring an all womens tv show added, theres too many women for not enough TV time. They are doing Cedric a favor as he will make some decent money and get some screen time in AEW. Disappointed in Sonya being let go. Again, too many women right now.
