Lived in MN for 7 years, spent a ton of time exploring the state parks with the Boy Scouts. All 4 you listed here are awesome parks. Hiked a ton around Interstate Park as it wasn't far from my house. Thanks for sharing!

There are nice SP's in Southern MN as well. Along the Mississippi and into the SE corner there are some particularly pretty ones. Frontenac, Great River Ridge, Whitewater, John A. Latsch just to name a few.

Judge C.R Magney State Park is an awesome place to visit and explore as well.

Actually Elk Lake flows into lake Itasca so that makes it the start of the Mississippi,at least according to those whose families have lived there for generations
