This is one of those videos that I wish had a "❤" option instead of just a "👍".

Todd, great progress my friend. I have been so busy in life I haven't produced a video in a while. My cabin frame has been moved and is now going to be a storage shed/ work shop. I look forward to talking to you again soon.

Sorry Todd, the county Code Enforcement guy just called. Even though it's now on your land, you're not really zoned for this type of structure. Time to move it again! 😎

What a sinking feeling that would be, lol. I might just have friends over for a really big bonfire.

Explain something for me please. Why use some power tools but not others? Like why not bring some bags of cement in for the foundation posts? Why not bring in a leveling chainsaw jig to make those logs sit flush? It just interest me why you're head set on some hand tools and okay with some power tools? Just curious, I am not trying to be offensive, I love your videos! 👍👍👍👍 You may have covered this in another video, and if so I apologize, I am just a new subscriber.

First of all, thanks for the sub and following the journey, Mick! When I started this project, my goal was to use only pioneer hand tools. All the logs were in fact cut and processed with an ax and hand tools. It gave me a great appreciation for our ancestors. Once we moved the cabin to the new site, I ditched the pioneer hand tool method for modern, electric hand tools: Drill, generator, chainsaw, etc. Even before move, about this far in progress at the other site, I started using cordless tools for drilling holes for pins. I have a chainsaw mill. The gaps in the logs will chinked to seal and insulate the walls. I've seen first hand how long it takes using pioneer tools to erect a log cabin. At this point, I'm using whatever makes the build go faster. Great question and welcome to the channel, sir!
