@@Romy--- I think it was pretty clear they were laughing for the same reason you were: the Maaaam and everything else was so ridiculous. They weren't laughing at her, or at taking advantage of her. There's a different tone when you're laughing AT someone which those of us who've been laughed AT a lot know very well. Even bad guys have human moments, and that's what Jojo is pointing out--there's a tragic and beautiful humanness in the meeting between these different sides of the spectrum. Some innocent things bring out the human in all of us, even if we've had so much bad in our lives that we just want to be evil.

As I watched it, I caught myself actually feeling a glimmer of compassion for people doing something so completely awful, and my reflex was to say: "No! I can't let myself feel compassion for them; they are BAD!" Our human empathy that gets evoked instinctively when we hear adversaries laughing together conflicts with our moral consciousness of the evil these scammers are perpetrating. So we reflexively try to reconcile that dissonance by stifling our natural instinct for empathy... but I believe a more nuanced stance that transcends this reflex is possible too. Evil things like this scam exist in the world, not because some humans are all evil, but because all humans are some evil. We can still feel a degree of compassion out of shared humanity with the scammers, without excusing or mitigating their horrible, reprehensible, inexcusable actions, even in the slightest. Having watched a bunch of these amazing videos, whenever Kitboga decides to reveal, what he seems to be after is just some small indication of authenticity from the scammer(s). My guess is that's because even a tiny crumb of authenticity might place it within the realm of hope that the scammer's life might one day, perhaps many years from now, take him/her in a direction where that "bridgehead of good" grows into some sort of moral awakening and an end to their victimization of innocent, vulnerable people. Unsurprisingly, he almost never gets one; the scammer just yells obscenities, or shouts "LA LA LA LA I CANT HEAR YOUUUU" into the phone. Kitboga & the scammers both laughing at that fake hold message / at MAAAAAM might be seen as a rare exception to this rule, which is why I think it resonates for so many people.

I'll be frank, I'm an Indian, been jobless for the past 6 yrs in my "peak age". Been through lot of troubles, family lost half our wealth due to wrong investments at wrong time. More would've been lost if I hadn't acted upon it swiftly. Friends took advantage of my kindness, took money and cheated me! I Stopped spending money on having food outside too since I just lost interest in life! Grateful for having parents who take care of my food, shelter n basic stuff. Been suffering from depression since school days, even my teachers ill treated me! ALL THIS, YET I do not get an inkling towards scamming or cheating someone! Though Lot of scammers are Indians, there are lot of scammers from other countries too, who scam for a living! But Something lot of us i.e. people with morals, need to be proud of is our Honesty, which nobody applauds you for, but you need to be proud of and never give in to the easy way out i.e. cheating! Kitboga what you're doing is great. Time spent scam baiting has saved some gullible person from being scammed! Cheers mate.

It's like they were all delirious at that point from spending so much time, the scammers probably knew it was a trick and stopped taking it seriously but invested so much time that they had to make sure. And kit knew that pretending to be the other scammer from the bank should tip them off but he stopped caring too. So they're just laughing together and joking about the "MAAAM" thing, they all know how ridiculous the situation they're in became

I'm not sure if they are working for a company- I think this is physically [space wise] a small scale operation (though I'm sure they've done a ton of damage), that they are likely running out of their house. They seem to be picking up at all hours, even in the middle of the night in their timezone, sometimes sounding like they're literally in bed. I've noticed over the past year that there seem to be more and more "freelance" scammers operating in groups of 2 or 3, whereas before you would always hear call centers, screaming, and phones ringing in the background. There were even a couple times children have answered when Kitboga's called back.

It's an interesting piece of psychology how the catharsis of an insult falls flat if the insult is not "received" by the other person. Kitboga flatly refuses to "hear" the insult, and it completely takes the wind out of it. The fact that the scammers mess up their fake trustworthy exterior also shows how frustrated they really are. They're slowly marinating in a brine of cognitive dissonance.
