Vollering is the overall stronger rider indeed when compared one to one, just the team spirit in her team was lacking and her team management not good, in addition her strategy on the last stage was not on point.

So funny, Kasia's surname translates to English - Unknown. Now she is the most known female cyclist in the world:)
@DariuszLipiec

Niewiadoma doesn't translate into Unknown in that meaning, rather: Uncertainty, Indeterminate... Unknown in the meaning "not known/famous" would be "Nieznana" in Polish. Cheers from Poland!

Crashes are part of cycling. Kasia crashed in the first stage. She must have lost time . Vollering crashed and had three stages to make up a minute thirty deficit . She didn't. There are no excuses.

First: There must be a rematch in 2025. She won by four seconds only by previously attacking her main rival after she was knocked down by another rider. This is the reason there was so much silence toward Kasi and so much support and comfort for Vollering. Thus, a dark shadow was cast over the 'victory' on the final day. The reason you wait for a fallen leader isn't just to be fair. It is so your victory does not ring hollow. Sorry, but you can't have it both ways.

How quickly people forget SD Worx (and Vollering) dropping Annamiek van Vleuten when she had a mechanical on the 2022 Tour! Guess that doesn't count because it didn't work? Oh, and don't criticise Kasia for riding - criticise SD Worx for doing absolutely NOTHING to help Vollering after she got back on the bike.
@timbrykkk

That is one bitter thought I cannot shake off. Vollering seemed to be in far better shape and that crash was pivotal. Then again, isn't that part of the beauty of sports? It's not only the raw numbers that get you there.

@@eduardoschneider2010 Sometimes in the race you find yourself on the wrong side of the road or following the wrong group. Nobody remembers when Kasia Niewiadoma fell, and Demi with others didn't wait for her either (Paris Olympic Games) and other races.
