FOUR SPEED & WHEELIE! A833 Mopar Pistol Grip 4 Speed Find!

The 1973 Plymouth roadrunner had no transmission when i bought and i knew from day one that i would want a old school a833 mopar 4 speed transmission in it with a pistol grip (The coolest shifter ever made) so last week i found a great deal on a dodge challenger 440 big block four speed with the oem shifter and everything so jumped in my car drove 4 hours each way with the little corolla hanging on the bump stops and brought it home to check it out, luckily everything inside the trans looked mint, i just need some linkage, rods and bushing for it!

My philosophy has always been to use parts that feel and work right. Especially performance areas like driveline and brakes. Never done a presentation worthy resto for that reason LOL. Me, I'd sell the shifter to get some cash back and use the Hurst if that's what works for you.

@@Viktorrhansen I've seen ads for claims of OEM or "refinished like new" for many hundreds US$. Like 550 or 700. Not in the market but I got the impression they ain't cheap....

I went the opposite way. I picked up a pistol grip shifter to replace my Hurst competition shifter. It matches better with my gorilla arms.

@@bobbymuse7793 i was talking about the mechanism in the video under the handler where this has no stops you can over rotate or crank the rods which wear out stuff quick, but itll do for now or until it break hehe
