cool video, but why do you have to scream the 4 steps? does that somehow make it more effective?

Oy Blin! It's just a learning tool. You break the theough up into the four steps, and by doing it in four steps you get the discipline to do the steps right before you can make it more fluid. For example, how many times have you say done osoto and your instructor's said 'vhest to chest' then you do it chest to chest, then he says 'point your toes' so you do it again and point your toes, but in doing so you forgot to go chest to chest? It happens all the time. Your instructor teaches you one detail, then you forget the other details. So instead grouping the details into categories that you can do all at once, but in clear stages, makes the steps a lot easier to memorise and learn. Later on you should start doing them all as one step, but it's important to be able to play all the notes within all the phrases before you start trying to play the whole piece
