P1601 Some issues that may or may not arise. They wont likely arise if you study my information like this video. You could take it to a professional that we Recommend. Recently went through this with a 2013 Auto Hilux after watching multiple of Anth's videos. Using the ilink400au from Vident & a very expensive Snap-on Scan tool. Aircond off. Two times with over 100-150 throttle stabs using the Vident Scan tool & then swapping to the Snap-on Scan tool with about what felt like 300 throttle stabs. Still the PQL did not complete or advance. Could not clear the P1601 CEL code. Later after calling in all the brains trusts I knew, Auto Sparkie & Diesel Mechanic we gave up. Later that evening I had it idling for about 1/2 hour with Vident scanning the live data. I went into Special Functions>Piloy Quality Learn - Confirmation. In there I could check that my Injector coding was correct. Then I went back to reading the DTC's. P1601 was there still with the CEL up. I thought why not have one more go at clearing the DTC P1601 & for some odd reason it cleared this time. Even though we never actually completed a PQL Detail on the two scan tools we used. Weird, but I am finding the vehicle is running well so will leave it at that.

I just watched your video and… Pilot learning procedure is quite different from tool to tool. For example on Delphi DS150e diag, you need to fullfil certain conditions to start and that is 90 degree of coolant and 41-63 degree of fuel temperature. It comes in 4 stages and its operating automaticaly. It puts certain pressure on injectors while idling and you have impression that car is going to take off! Most important - All consumers (especially aircon) should be OFF!!!

If pilot learn procedure fails to learn glow plug light will flash 2 quick flash’s then one longer flash For cylinder 1 or 2 quick flash’s two longer flash’s for cylinder 2 and so on .3/4 To indicate which injector is faulty( In my case it had good injection feedback Vals but were faulty injectors) replaced injectors , pilot learn procedure was learnt code p1601was gone.

What a PIA for the procedure! And pretty bad for the engine. FFS On a LR with a fishy Ford engine and Denso system the pilot learn is way more simple.

Anthony did say a few time needs pilot learning from 2010 up, otherwise just need to put in injector calibration codes, that,s how I understood it. AS usual great Video Anthony, thankyou
