What I was thinking
@NadoriKaija4 жыл бұрын
First, they don't live in the ocean. Second, they ALL originated from wild bettas in Thailand. Third, there's technically a minimum of two names that go with bettas...tail type then coloring type. All tail types come in a huge array of colors, colors that other tail types can also duplicate. Like the green-bodied red-finned Dragon betta can come as moon, supermoon, crown, delta, superdelta, rosetail, plakatt, etc. They also have a Dumbo, with the side fins being larger than others, and a King betta is about 3x bigger than a normal betta. So there's a lot that goes into the name-type of a betta, and it gets rather specific. Most of the "black orchid" bettas you showed were NOT black orchids. Maybe do your research before trying to be "informative".

Idt I'd go lower than a 7.5 , heavily planted, of course. By the time snails, shrimp, Cory's, and a few smaller non nippers fill out the piece,, there's quite a lot of biomass to be had, all complementing and bringing something to the party. The only thing about the nanos is the more frequent maintenance.

To all of you who want to get a betta after watching this video, please read. The amount of misinformation in this video is slowly killing me, here are the basic necessities if you are getting a betta, you will need at least a 5 gallon tank, I do a 30% water change every second week or so, you will also need a heater and a filter, the filter must not be too strong, betta don’t like a strong current. You also need to cycle the tank before getting a betta.(you have to do this for any fish you get, you can’t miss it) you also need a high quality food, I feed my betta bloodworms for two days in a week and the rest of the week I feed pellets, I also don’t feed on Sundays to prevent bloating. They need places to hide and I would recommend getting live plants. Those are just what I think are the necessities, but there are still many other things such as a clean up crew or tank mates :)

I'd like to add a sponge filter works best. I have had Bettas get their fins caught in the vents of the filters. I've also had Bettas manage to jump that small gap where water flows out of the filter and get caught inside the filter. I was advised to cover my filter in pantyhose to keep my fish "safe". He managed to get in the smallest opening and got caught in the hose. Lesson learned. I have used sponge filters from that day to present day. They're just so much better, cheaper and easier to clean. ☺ Thank you for providing good information.

yap and a flat aquarium is better for them than aquarium that goes high... and having a decoration or plant near surface does make them happy and gives them a nice feeling. prevent sharp decorations/ hard plants, if any, prevent community tank with them and mostly prevent eye-catching fishes like guppies and prevent fish who can swallow your betta.... don´t put more than one betta per tank cause they don´t do well. and remember that betta resting at the deepest part of your aquarium means 1. he is not happy. 2. you are not giving time to him. 3. there is something wrong in aquarium, mostly with water. 4. he is sick. 5. he is probably going to die. have fun keeping betta (they live minimum 2 years with lowtech and they live around 3-4 with a lot of care)

I agree completely I cringe when I see a fish any fish in a tank smaller than 5 gallons. My beta, is it a 10 gallon tank, And very happy with it. I think the person that was doing this video just did it without any information whatsoever on how to take care of the fish. This really disgusts me. I mean would you keep your dog in a small box that just allows him to turn around in? Just because fish don’t mark and fall asleep on your lap breakouts, does not mean that they should be treated inhumanely. To the making of this video get a life and also get out of making videos about fish the miss information is just horrible

I have had my crowntail for almost four months now. He is absolutely stunning. Blue with green tint and red ombré through his fins. He is always so excited for food. Very calm and pretty intelligent. I just bought a purple dragonscale betta. He is SO curious compared to Arlo. He always approaches me when he sees me come up to the tank. It’s just so fascinating how different in personalities they are. I have found so much therapy fishkeeping. And I find a lot of joy being able to give these little guys a safe and comfortable home to live in. They’re both in 10 gallons, controlled heating and lighting, plants, and decorations. I spoil them so much. But it is so hard not to. I never understood how fish were entertaining as a kid. Now I just sit and observe them for hours on end.

NONE of these betta's come from ricefields or the ocean, they are fresh water fields and these were bred, did not come from the wild 3. they can NOT be kept in small aquariums. most people say that the minimum is 5 gallons, but i think that 10gallons should be the minimum. 4. yes, betta males are rly agressive to each other, but you can easily keep them with for example, tetra's.

"Low care requirements" Bruh. You need 5 gallons minimum for a betta, with a filter and heater. Ive spent well over $200 on my betta, and it shows. He is a double tail halfmoon named Bleu (French for Blue). Ive spent at least $100+ on his tank and set up. The other $100 went to ensuring i have medication on hand, and that he is getting the absolute best nutritionally based food obtainable. Betta fish need care like every other fish, the only reason they are "easy" is because most bettas will only eat pellets, which are pretty mess free, and they are also low bio-load producers. You need so much to take care of any fish. This whole video is absolute bullshit.

The moment I heard Sea , I immediately stop watching the video. Betta Fish are freshwater fish that is commonly found on muddy shallow water. I'm a fish hobbyist and videos like this don't deserve attention. So many misinformation. Those kinds of betta fish don't live on muddy or paddies. They've been selective breeding to get those kind of strain. The wild ones are the one living in rice paddies

You should be happy that you didn't watch the rest of this video. You would have had a stroke.

I've had Betas for years- they are beautiful little fish. I don't know alot about them but it seems I've been doing it ALL wrong after reading some of these posts. Thank goodness I haven't killed any of them. Didn't realize there was such a variety of colors and tail formations. VERY Cool Video Folks 🌟☮️😁

I'm sorry, but I'm fairly certain that 'beta' fish are freshwater tropical fish. Wow, this channel needs some help in the research department

Ahh~ you just showed a bunch of hybrid-bred colours of bettas and called them "species"~ It would have been better if you showed the *ACTUAL wild betta species* and compared them instead~

Amazingly beautiful fish!!!

Beautiful fish but trust me. Betta do not love small puddles of water. They get trapped between rainfall. Please don't keep these fish in small bowls. 20gallons or more
@mercedesllerena54714 жыл бұрын
¿ 20 gallons just for 1 fish, that's true that they are gorgeous fish but it's just 1 fish because they can't stand to share their space...I think 20 is really to much...
@Kont3rfit4 жыл бұрын
@@mercedesllerena5471 in the wild they have about 3 square feet for there territory. Until water dries up then sometimes they get stuck in small puddles. They can be territorial towards other betta and love a lot of space. So yeah 20 gallons is great for them but I supose 10 would be ok.
@kristinayagmin58934 жыл бұрын
@@Kont3rfit 5 gallons is the minimum, while bigger is better, i would not keep a betta alone in a 20g. Some neon tetras and a nerite snail, with a nice male betta as a centerpiece fish would do just fine 👍
@Kont3rfit4 жыл бұрын
@@kristinayagmin5893 absolutely. I would never keep it alone. It needs friends too. And honestly having a single fish is boring. So 20 gallons and get a handful of other fish.
