Even when Amorim put Malacia at LB yesterday, who is a player I do not rate in the slightest, they looked so much more balanced on the pitch. Just a natural left footed LWB opens up the attack so much. It allows them to play so many more passes both inside and outside. A right footed LWB limits the mobility and forces them to telegraph passes more. I would rather them not pay 40m for him if they can buy back Alvaro Carreras back for a fraction of the price tho

I agree with this. The crazy thing is we've even seen this with Antony coming on as right-back. A player that is awful, but just him pushing forward has allowed the team to be so much more attacking. Literally just having an extra body up forward changes things so much.

The thing is. As a Chelsea fan. I watched 2016-18 Conte 3-4-3 with Moses and Alonso and then Tuchel 3-4-3 with Chilwell and James. The wing backs were so important. We essentially ran Chilwell and James into the ground because we only really had Alonso (slow at that point) and Azpilicueta (amazing 1v1 defender but slowing at that point and not as attacking). For any pure 3-4-3 the wingbacks are soooo important and they need to be in every play.

I was in Parken (Denmark's national stadium) and saw his debut, and I kid you not, his first ever touch on the ball for Denmark, was a goal. He hadn't even touched the ball once before the touch he scored with. What a promising player! I as a Danish Manchester United fan hope that United signs him! :)

That central midfield position alongside ugarte is a real problem. Nooone really is the all round player they need there and Amorim is constantly swapping players around there sometimes twice a game. Noone really fits what he wants and it stops utd from imposing themselves on games
@Matt-jp6if5 күн бұрын
Yeah seems like he realises he has players that do some of what he wants and so he’s trying to swap them out for the game state, but that obviously can go very wrong sometimes

As someone who sadly watches United weekly, I don't think a striker is our concern, we don't do the fundamentals of getting the ball into a good xG chance for them in the first place, so you're right, we need players who can attack the space and the by-line and get the ball into those one touch finish situations (where I think Hojlund is actually very good). We might also need a more experienced No.8 (which makes me sad because I love Kobbie with all my heart) while this system develops
@EvaristusMbu-w7v5 күн бұрын
Yep man but in some like we playing against Southampton Casmiro can play the 8 with perfection. Ruben is to focus on making Diego Diallo dont miss a game
@emmanuelpeter6894Күн бұрын
Hojlund isnt a good finisher or a good poacher of the ball. His choice of finish and movement off the ball are appalling. He's only a good striker of the ball. And if you played FM, you'll know that FINISHING doesn't make you a consistent goal scorer.
@dandii..11 сағат бұрын
@@emmanuelpeter6894lmao, what poor analysis of Hojlund, and using FM to back up your views is very weak. Otherwise the only things that you'd believe make a good player are pace strength and height. Which whilst all are good characteristics, aren't what individually make great players. Hojlund has fantastic conversion rate. He's playing poor currently, not holding the ball up well to aid with transitions. But strikers at United have suffered with a lack of creativity behind them for over a decade now. We've become a moments club, relying on inverted wingers to cut in and score, or wonder goals from our 8. If you watch a team like Brighton, Bournemouth, even the likes of Fullham, you see patterns of play with the ball, pass and move, through balls etc. They have a play style in mind in the final third, when we get to the final third it becomes pass backwards, and switch to the opposite flank in a lethargic manner. I don't think Hojlund is a complete striker, and still has to work on his game. But I don't think replacing him necessarily means we suddenly start scoring lots of goals when we fundamentally lack chance creation

I agree, i think we need to solve these specialists wing back positions first and work with the striker we have. Then get in a new striker during the summer. Im happy with the personel for the back 3 and will take the midfield and goalies we have. I think Hojlund needs some more coaching. He doesnt have that inate selfish bastard streak in him which i think all world class strikers need. He doesnt play off the back shoulder enough, or get into the 6 yard box and comes too deep for me. Though i think he has potential still and dont think he is a lost cause as i believe the service he gets is awful. This Dorgu lad might just help that. Ps first time ever watching the channel. Its very good. Sorry to read about your loss, my deepest sympathies and condolences to you. We lost a few close people including the mother in law last year, and its still raw. ❤

@ It really doesn't. It really doesn't. Because firstly, most were not different managers, they were uder TH, so your point here is mute. Secondly, the notion of fixing the biggest problem and then the second biggest problem would imply that things were improving. Which they haven't.

Really great video, nice to see some proper tactical analysis on United rather than people just shouting all the players aren't good enough which often happens, especially in the mainstream. I think both WB need looking at as we seem to have very solid CB's, also concerned about the 10s and 8 positions, would be cool to see a video on the players you think can fit the system and who you would get rid off during this window to make way for more players like Dorgu. For instance, I am very conflicted on the posible Garnacho sale as I like him and think he could be great but worry he may not fit this system or that we have a greater need some different players to help in the short term to build the team on. And as a side note, as someone also called Adam I like a Channel that seems to exclusively hire based on this name. Sorry you've been having a tough time, sending positivity along with my selfish nerdy request for some more nerdy United football content.
