fourMulator random madness

Two fourMulator modules are used to trigger the drum channels of the Vermona DRM1 MKIII drum synthesiser and play a simple synth voice which are then together being processed thru a reverb unit which itself is massively controlled by the two fourMulators.
Mainly the random wave outputs are used which causes sudden and sometimes drastic changes while always keeping touch to the master clock and therefor remaining musical.
The left fourMulator is the master clock.
The HI HAT and the CLAP channel a fed thru a Vermona twinVCAmp module for velocity control, again using the signal outputs of the fourMulator modules. This can be heard well at 9:54. The Hi Hat is triggered by the right fourMulator, ch.2 which is frequency-modulated by the left fourMulator, ch.2.
The reverbs dry/wet is controlled using a random wave out of the left fourMulator, ch.3 which is fed into a comparator to select only the high voltages to advance the reverbs dry/wet. This happens at 3:45. When the voltage exceeds the comparators threshold the reverb is set to 100% wet. To adjust this carefully we use a Vermona 1U Attenueverter module.
A comparator is a very useful tool along with the Vermona fourMulator, same as the voltage controlled switch used in this patch.
At 7:50 we patch the SNARE drum from the trigger output of channel 3 to the same channels random waveform out which causes a random triggering as only the voltages above the SNARE drums trigger threshold finally cause triggering. This is patched back to the trigger out at 9:11.
The oscillator receives also a random voltage, but quantized. The gate for the classic synth voice is a division of the left fourMulators ch.2 trigger out which constantly changes as the clock dividers rotate cv-input is controlled by the left fourMulators ch.1 random output.
We wanted to record the patch in full length to really show how it starts and how it may end. Use your imagination to think what you would patch up.
We can also recommend to turn on the clip and listen to the sound only to better recognize all the little and subtle changes of rythmic patterns produced.
In the upcoming video we demonstrate the opposite action, not letting random outputs cause continuous change within the patch but tweaking the fourMulators knobs manually.

That's not reversed, and the cable was indeed inserted. It's just playing with the speed of the video and cutting out a few snippets.

one thing is to bake all sounds thru one effect. in this case the erb verb. but here we have to see that the musical outcome is drastically depending on the way of how an instrument is being controlled, and this job is very well done by the fourMulator. in fact we have choosen to demonstrate the fourMulator together with erb verb because this offers entire cv-control and clock input so there was a lot of opportunity for the fourMulator to perform. along with that we had overdriven some of the drm1's outputs using the twinVCAmp.
