Fourth of July Weekend Galveston Bolivar Ferry 4K UHD Drone Video

The Galveston-Port Bolivar ferry is the bridge between two segments of State Highway 87. South of IH-10, State Highway 87 is the only highway around Galveston Bay. The free ferry service provided by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is the only way motorists can cross the waterway between Bolivar Peninsula and Galveston Island. Best “free” ride in Texas. Sometimes I just park my car on the Bolivar side and ride the ferry back and forth for an hour or so, especially after a bad day, as the sea air clears my head.

I really enjoy all your videos. I have said before how well they are produced and put together. Keep on with it. I watch every one of them. This one puts into perspective what its like riding the ferry boats. I've done it hundreds of times. This let me really see what is going on. Well done dude, well done.👍

I love the Ferry ride, but 4-6 hour wait is just too much..Not familiar with either side of the Ferry Facilities for the bathrooms..Are they cleaned very often?

The next time you drone shoot Galveston you may consider documenting the remains of Fort San Jacinto, which was located on the Eastern end of Galveston. In your drone video, kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y2ebeKp3iqqmlbc, at the :19 second mark, the Fort San Jacinto area is in the background. In it's heyday and because it protected the Ship channel entrance, this military fortification was a fairly big deal and equipped with multiple big gun batteries. The remains, of several of those batteries, still exist but the area is considered dangerous to visitation due to the unstable deposited silt from channel dredging. I don't think anybody has ever done a flyover documentation of the area. It would be interesting to see what's there and there are several somethings there.
