M Vijay was the only hope for India in away series that time... He's the most run scorer for the Indian test team between 2014-2015. He went on to 7th position at Test batting rankings. He also holds the record of second most (12) centuries as an opener for India next to legend Virender Sehwag But no one ever noticed and appreciated his tremondous performances for the Indian team. Such an underrated classi, style and elegant test batsman! Sad truth is evryone remember his final poor performance which was just a 2 series but no one ever remembered his sterdy performances in the past over the years!Feels sad for him!

That series was painful. Especially bhuvi bowl those medium pace overs. Credit to the management how they turned the fortune around by improving the pace battery. In 2018 Aussies didn't know what hit them. In 2020-21 it was just bossing.

The foundation stone for 2018-19 and 2020-21 was laid in 2014 where india changed their approach as virat took over test captaincy and made it very clear that winning is the only option, if you compare the 2014 series(2011) with the previous series you will realise that India fought pretty well in 2014 by losing only 2 test matches and drawing two. One of the matches that we lost in Adelaide (the one with kohlis twin centuries) went down to the wire and we lost a match we should've won but the brand of cricket we played there it was clear there is no stopping india once kohli takes over. The only problem we faced in 2014 was with our pace battery which was good but pretty raw , shami and yadav used to be very erratic back then and went for a lot of boundaries but the same bowlers post 2014 started looking fiery and deadly , i don't know what exactly happened but suddenly the mindset changed in the Indian team . We more often than not undermine the performance of our pacers on dead wickets in india post 2014 the same Umesh Yadav , shami and ishant sharma almost became unplayable even on indian wickets ( this was the time when Sunil gavaskar used to compare shami's and Yadav's bouncers with Malcolm Marshall) and after this came yet another gem with number 93 on his back with an unorthodox action with outside noises all around him that he won't last with this action because of fitness issues , He proved all of them wrong and his name is Jasprit bumrah post jasprit bumrah Indias fast bowling transformed into a different beast altogether , but now our issues are different because of kohlis poor form for the last 2.5 years we are facing batting issues but still individuals like rohit sharma, rishabh pant and jadeja have stood up .

Can't say about Waugh because never seen that team play but his records are the best and second is Graeme Smith then Kohli. Vijay was outstanding.....he could be a nightmare of Australia......a pure madrasi can only fight against Aussies like Vijay, Dinesh kartik......Tats y Hayden itself said that, if he play in Chennai, he feels like he s in Australia....tat much facilities are available in Chennai......the saddest part is, we have a lot of dhonis, sachins, yuvis, Gayles.....but they do not get chance bcos of financial instability.....outside Chennai we have more talented players who can bat and bowl well against Aussies or any other countries around the world.......we are very happy that, Hayden, Lee have coordinated vit Tnpl league......it was a great time for young talents around Tamilnadu......and also they got more practical experience from Hayden and Lee.....
