I am an amateur string player in an orchestra and possess perfect pitch. This music has been played at many concerts over the years and I love heart on sleeve music, especially patriotic variety! Love the major first inversion chords too!

The best ever transition was in 1969 when Sir Colin Davis conducted. For some reason the newspapers said that Rule Britannia would not be played! The cheer from the audience when it transitioned from See The Conquering Hero is a cherished memory!

The beauty of the last night of the Proms is that, although the revisionist, woke left whines about it being jingoistic and white supremacist, you will see the flags of many nations being waved. Including many that we've fired the occasional angry shot at. I don't think you'll see such a spontaneous display of tolerance anywhere else. Long may it continue.
