This is August 31, 2024 and I am watching the end of this program with tears in my eyes as I marvel how spectacular this show was. My husband and I lived in London from 2004 to 2015 and I have always regretted not attending at least one Prom before we headed home to the US. We went to a broadway play on the West End at least once a year and watched the Proms on TV, but watching this makes me so nostalgic for London and the wonderful plays we were lucky to attend. All the actors, singers, and dancers were fantastic and Maestro Wilson a genius and a darling. Thank you to whomever made this possible.

Wow that was nice! Playing Rhapsody in blue without a piano solo saves time. How many people in this world can play that solo? Not too many. Now you take the hardest guitar solo (hell take your pick) and tons of guys can play the licks but this piano solo here in Rhapsody in Blue is out of your damn mind intense. Frank Chacksfields orchestras piano player plays this song perfect. Hearing Frank Chacksfields version makes you very critical of other attempts.

! Wonderful! Listening to this music (for the first time I heard it more than 50 years ago) makes me transport to panoramas of peace and romanticism in the purest style. This music produces peace, produces in the spirit a desire to build in positive, to unite rather than disunite, service, honest work, love of a noble couple, commitment, freedom of spirit. John Wilson achieves a very special musical arrangement combining fast and smooth moments with that mastery of driving and those changes of rhythm so peculiar to his musical genius. I bless this wonderful orchestra!
