And there are many of us on SSI who are on benefits horribly embarrassed to swipe our cards. I hide mine in my hand as i do so hopefully no one can tell its EBT. I appreciate every bit of the assistance though. I didnt earn it, the medical part means I'm still alive. I'm honest with them. I can't tell you of the times that I have been in the grocery store I have been approached many many times people wanted to sell food stamps but when I got through talking to this person they pretty much ran out of the store and didn't look back as heartbreaking that people can still from the government and get away with it it's not right and I could have used that food but I was illegal and I was not going to do it
