Gondola!

I’m sorry but the climbing bit of this video had absolutely nothing relevant to do with the gondola vs bus.

I believe elevated rail would be the best option.

have a train go from the airport through little cottonwood. it would fix the issue of traffic and wouldn't obscure the canyons beauty,

gondola sounds cheaper

As an airline and hotel employee I work with alot of tourist coming here for skiing and hiking. A train would cut out so much traffic cause all the guest rent cars to drive back and forth from Airport/Downtown every day.

There's this thing called an avalanche...
@devinwhite1042 жыл бұрын
@@Grumpollion they build them in places with worse avalanche danger than that
@dtobler46382 жыл бұрын
I like this idea but I would make it an elevated rail to reduce disruption do to avalanche. And still not as unsightly as the gondola. Plus carry more passengers at once.

Time to grow up utah, build those gondolas!
@open1eye Жыл бұрын
A gondola will ruin the canyon and 600 million dollars could be put to much better use. A train would be cost effective and sensible. Having a covered parking garage at the canyon entrance would be ideal. Since we don't have any tunnels through our mountains in Utah, rail makes the most sense.

Please no gondola. Expensive. We need a different solution

Buses are cheaper, easier, reduce traffic and don’t cause visual pollution. More buses going from the midvale front runner station up the canyon would better utilize existing infrastructure, it might even have trickle down effects that get more people out of their car and into transit for other trips. This is exactly why UDOT doesn’t like the enhanced bussing idea because their organization is full of kleptocrats that want as big of projects as possible so that more money flows into UDOT, ideally these big projects don’t totally fix problems so they can have another big project to fix them again years later. The gondola is perfect for this, its super expensive, slower than a bus, requires a big parking lot that will get maxed out, and it’s limited in the number of places it can go. This leaves more than enough room for UDOT to “fix” transportation up the canyon for decades to come. After the population has grown more, they’ll suggest a bigger parking lot for the gondola and a wider road leading to it, they will repeat this a few times, and then only after they have exhausted all other options and max outed increasing the size of current roads will they maybe decide to make getting up the canyon without a car easier.

An opportunity to remove auto pollution from the mountain by reducing 85% of road traffic... An opportunity to reduce road noise and noise pollution... An opportunity to reduce the cost of snow removal from roadways... An opportunity to lower road upkeep costs... An opportunity to make one of the most dangerous roads in America safer by removing the cars that travel on it... It's rather clear that these 'Save the Canyon' folk enjoy toxic exhaust pollution, are content with abundant noise pollution, love the cost of road maintenance/upkeep, and want to keep the drive as dangerous and life threatening as possible. I love Utah, but so many folks are Utarded.

Whatever I live in Utah the thing everyone wants to build is very dangerous I saw the accident in Canada that killed everyone there are true stories no I think the height issue bothers me after reading the true stories I say a train on it's own track on city train but a better train for winter weather conditions.

@@juliaweber212 Yeah and? I live in Sandy, Utah. So what? Do you think your opinion is "more valid" because you live further away from the access road than i do? LoL Ohhh you saw a tv show once... about something in Canada... Here's a nice fact for you. More people have died DRIVING up and down Little Cottonwood Canyon each year than folks that have died using Snowbird's Tram since the tram was constructed FIFTY-ONE years ago... 51 years of tram has killed less than one year of driving the access road... Don't let those pesky facts get in the way of your fear of heights. When was the last time you were up the canyon? Right!
