Flushed my 07 civic si’s tranny with Gm synchromesh friction modified. Fixed my issue... same with my 98 civic....

...lol. yes, but its set differently. if you look under them, the physical component of accord is straight on, the civic is turned. it is a different set up...thus being a differnt car:) and civics have the problem, non of 6 speed accords do.

FYI cars off the lot have this problem... and its a problem ever sinve 03 with the rsx's and the s2000's, it has nothing to do with how hard you drive it.

I own a 07 Si and I have this problem as well but It pops out maybe 2 or 3 times a week but I usually just ease it in 3rd to make sure it engages slow. But if i race i slamm it in there lol j/k it rarely happens but im surprised about this news

hey i have a dc5 type r imported from japan and I have this problem also had to fix my second gear recently cuz that popped out too. My mechanic is telling me its the ball and spring that holds the gear in place and not the synchros, replace the ball and spring??

the exampe they used is out of a 6 speed accord...man they lie!

come on what is the problem!! someone do i have to replace the whole third gear, sleeve and synchros. I honestly don't think so this has to be a small fix

Do a cvd delete, adjust the master cylinder and change the tranny fluid with synchromesh(yes its more expensive than oem honda fluid but deal with it). It will help it a lot. If you are planning on keeping the car for a long time learn to double clutch fast for 3rd or get yourself a rebuild kit with upgraded parts. There are few companies that make better internals for the transmission.

i dont doubt that there is some sort of problem with the trans. i want to know why some people dont say what they really do with the car, like race it!!everyone knows how hondas are known in the street racing world and some people just say "oh its an si, i'll race it, warranty will cover it" then they cant drive and they *uck up the trans. if the dealership finds a problem they WILL fix it but if they cant duplicate it. then what do you want? something for free? let me guess,its warranty, right?

well there are a lot of people out there that are @itching about the third gear problem, or is it? see if you were to drive an si and shift it into third and let it bounce in third gear and it comes out of gear then there is a problem BUT if your driving the car and it FEELS stiff or SEEMS like its not in all the way and you go on to blame honda then your an idiot if you claiming your car comes out of third. all you got to do it put it in gear correctly.
