Well, the stocks are going throught the roof right now, so, that means if Wall Street is doing good then Main Street is doing well, also. So, just think how Trump becoming president would make this even better. It would be like a never ending party! For example, in our town out here near the Minnesota and Wisconsin state line, we got a new muffler shop, discount wig warehouse, a new Chinese buffet, yum yum dim sum! and a wooden peg leg distributor. That was before Biden! So, with Trump, things will take off like a rocket. New freeways will be built, new skyscrapers will go up in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Trump is the baseball pitcher whose team was up big time in the game when he was brought in. For a while his team stayed ahead until the ninth inning when his sloppy pitching loaded the bases with no outs. His reliver came in and had to be careful to throw strikes. with the opponent swinging for the fences. A grand slam was hit, and all those runs were blamed on the reliever Biden in the Trump game of politics although in the fair game of baseball all but one of those runs were attributed to the pitcher who sat up the reliver to fail. Trump inherited a great growing economy with unemployment low and dropping with near no inflation and when that trend continued for a while during his administration, he falsely claimed that he had created the greatest economy ever. Prices for regular gas in the New Orleans area was around $2 a gallon and dropping when he took office. When the pandemic caused lower demand at a time when oil was already low and world oil stockpiles were at capacity gas dropped a little more. All of a sudden Trump had raised his magic wand causing cheap gas. But when it all went south it was the pandemic's fault and none of it was due to his fiscal irresponsibility of running up an all-time record $8 trillion in additional federal debt in just four years which devalued currency leading to the high inflation that Biden was later blamed for. The only reason inflation did not hit earlier is because it takes a while for government policies to affect the economy, and it would look like price gouging for merchants to raise prices during a national health crisis. After Biden restored the downtrodden Trump economy and labor demanded higher wages the ill effects of Trump economics hit home with high inflation and greedy merchants price gouging on top of the inflation. Now the USA is the leading oil producer in the world out producing Saudi Arabia and Russia combined and producing more oil than when Trump was in office. The US produces about 90% of the oil needed to meet its consumption. Oil prices are not determined by how much more the US produces as increasing production another 10% would not add enough to the world stockpile to affect the price of a barrel of oil on the world market. US domestic oil is traded and sold according to the world market price per barrel and not how much is produced in the US. Much of the oil produced in Texas, Oklahoma etc. is light crude which is exported because US refineries are designed to refine heavy crude, and it is cheaper to export the light crude and import heavy crude in its place than to build more refineries. When a barrel of oil drops on the world market to a certain low level domestic production is deliberately reduced and more is imported because there are environmental regulations and higher labor cost in the US. making it cheaper to import the cheap oil than to produce more domestically. When oil prices are high more will be produced domestically so more windfall profits are recognized. If oil companies can make huge profits with gas prices at $2 a gallon imagine how much more profit they make when it rises to $3 or $4 a gallon when it does not cost them any more to produce. There is not any federal regulation to stop domestic oil produces from gouging consumers at the pump, so the price is manipulated. They make outrageous profits when OPEC decides to cut back on production to justify increasing the price of a barrel of oil or a war is used as an excuse to raise prices, even though there is no shortages or rationing gas at the pump. So, gas prices at the pump are determined by OPEC and world conditions and when the price is high domestic producers make a killing on the consumer. All this Trump BS about drill baby drill is the answer to lower gas prices is just that nonsense fed to people who don't know what is going on with oil companies draining the consumers dry and drastically hindering our economy like wallowing pigs in a slop trough never satisfied with enough and dying to get fatter. Trump will just help them out with more tax cuts.
