Anyone know how to work out the depth of a river using this set up? Do you just put it over depth with a dead bait on so you can see the float not trotting through normally and then adjust according to this? I've previously brought another rod with a traditional float and a plummet but I know this is not right. Can anyone help please?

unclip your trace and run the float through without it on, you will see when the weight is dragging bottom, simply shallow up by the length of your trace then reattach it.
