Always wondered if the wild ones were high in omega-6. You should do a show on the most health beneficial native freshwater fish we have, the Gasper Gou! I grew up eating them and continue to do so.

*Good Video! I doubt fishermen will ever put a dent in their numbers alone. TPWD needs to stock Peacock Bass to help the Largemouth Bass control them. That's what South Florida did to control Exotic Cichlids and it appears to have helped.* A Tilapia by the way is a type of Cichlid. Tilapia are also called “Saint Peter’s Fish” because it has been said that they were the fish Peter caught when Christ told him to cast out his nets in the Sea of Galilee.Tilapia are highly tolerant of saltwater and some like the Mozambique Tilapia can live in saltwater twice the strength of seawater. Their temperature preferance is between 72-90 degrees. As stated their Achilles heel is cold water temperatures, but I think most anglers will be surprised to know that the Blue Tilapia is one of the most cold tolerant surviving temperatures down to 45 degrees.

Wow it can survive to 45 degree water! So it can survive all the way up into Oklahoma! That was a big mistake. They should have stocked a different type of tilapia.

ApocalypticStorms Funny thing how he mentions its a non native species but he doesn't talk about the non natives which the DFG stock our water ways with. For example rainbow trout is native in CA but they are introduced everywhere else with C&R restictions. Or Largemouth bass which are native in the south east being found everywhere else. I am not a big fan of Tilapia either but those fish I just mentioned are a few that could damage ecosystems (E.G Hybridization of rainbow trout and cutthroat)

It’s now Aug 2019 and Red snapper is still only 2 per person per day from June 1 and last 62 days. I just don’t understand. We have no problem limiting out in short time.
