These dogs should have their coat hand 'stripped' NOT clipped. If you are going to groom these breed of dogs then - please! - learn how to do it properly. Do your research. This dog looks awful now and his coat is ruined. Ok for a pet dog maybe, but not correct for the breed. Stop showing people how to destroy the wire haired fox terrier dogs distinctive outline and shape. Thanks.

I kbow this is just a pet, but look up wire fox grooming Ears are shaved close, & no topknot, & cheek s. close, to have a long narrow head. This looks more like a Wheaten groom. & tail is same lenghth as body , but I liked the scissoring between toes..

I said "she's grooming it like a poodle!" And bam, first comment says the same. You don't shave a fox terrier, you strip it! And the round fluffy ears! Are you out of your mind? It's a fox terrier, for dog's sake!!!! And the fur wasn't matted or anything, it only needed a good wash and strip. And the comments! Oh my dog.

Shaving or stripping depends on the age of the dog. Old dogs should not be stripped, while younger dogs should definitely be stripped to maintain it's coat and bright colors.

Even my old Foxterriers got better haircuts than this one - part hand stripped, part sheared. This is just setting the dog up for getting matted in the future! Also with the way the head and the tail got cut, you know this person has never seen a Foxi before😢

Horribel, I you do this several time to your dog..it will lose all his colors and the protective coat. it will be very difficult, even impossible to restore the hair.. A WIRE is to be trimmed

If you are going to groom dogs you should really try to get an idea of what the breed standard cut is. These dogs are double coated and shouldn't be shaved.

Oh Dear.! i am sure he feels better, but no where near the standard groom for a WFT, for a start only clip in later years when they have to for speed. Until then hand strip only to maintain the wire coat, also do some research and see how they look when finished.

And that's exactly how it got into this shape😢 When you don't strip them but using shears their fur gets all matted, knotted (because it get very soft) and the skin becomes stinky! After they got hand stripped they hardly get matted at all and the dirt they happen to take on outside simply falls of again. Trust me I have Foxterriers for 32 years now and even my old ones (who couldn't stand that long on a table) got better hair cuts than this - part hand stripped, part sheared! This is *not* how you do it! And setting this pup up for matted fur in the future. If you can't do gand stripping that's ok, but then don't take Foxies or other terriers please! Stick to poodle...😞

NOT a fox terrier. Coat, tail and especially ears are very wrong for a fox terrier. Groomers should know breeds, but these don't. Still a lovely dog, but they've got the breed and even the grooming standard wrong.
