Sportsman 101 thank you, little tricks that will save many people a lifetime of trial and error, deep snow changes the game for trapping completely.

I've got a red on my property that is walking the exact same trail for 3 out of the last 5 nights. I can see his tracks in the snow and he hits the exact same prints at a choke point, before veering off into varying directions. I just set your shallow snow method at the choke point, so hopefully I've got a tight chain in the morning.

Charles T. Murray I would coat them if possible, or the other option if you don’t want and are able to run bullet steaks drive the entire cable into the dirt up to the crunch swivel. This way the cable is buried reducing odor, but usually K9 are extremely keen on smell and still might set off flip or dig up your traps

@@paparomesoutdoors711 Thanks! I do have earth anchors but if I'm in a situation where they won't work - soft mud or rocky ground. I have some old cable laying around. Fun videos. We'll see how i do. Heading into the woods today. I'm also out of sheeps wool and my order won't arrive before i go. Any alternative to sheeps wool?

Your channel showed up recommended for me. I've subbed and you have my support. Thanks for sharing your tips! Grew up around trappers and hunters in Newfoundland Canada. If you have time please give my son and friend's channel Tough Country Gear a look. Thanks!

Even in the snow. Can they not smell you been there. Hmm you buried that really deep. The one with the cinder block. The ones by the hill are not as deep .
