His hair was gorgeous! I was always envious because I have super thick, curly, unruly hair. That voice too. Like melted chocolate. Yum!

Absolutely one of the best voices ever. We lost a great voice and teller of stories when Mark Sandman (Morphine) passed, I look at Brad and the band to keep telling stories through music 🎶🎵

These guys are just some schlepps hanging out with other musicians at the The Blue Note to me lol, love that they made it. Not sure if anybody knows this but in Winnipeg they were a revolving door of musicians and like musical chairs, if you had a seat when they got signed you won the lottery. I suspect that's why Brad didn't feel a need to consult anyone about the band name. The last time I saw these guys was Brad working the door at the Pyramid Club when I was playing in The Void and Ben showing up on the lawn at my parents house on this rattly crappy bike and showing us a copy of The Ghosts that Haunt Me. I remember very well him saying "We might make enough money to buy a pack of gum!" Surprise, more than a pack of gum, it turns out! Ben is now Son of Dave out of England and you should look him up on KZbin if you like blues. Before The Crash Test Dummies we shared rehearsal space with Ben's blues band, called The Detonators. He played the most beautiful version of Sultans of Swing I'd ever heard. Sorry we stole Aggy from the band Ben but look where it landed you! 🙂

Hookist I agree, I think CTD remained pretty consistent with their output, they just evolved a lot on the aesthetic from album to album.

Crash Test Dummies on cassette, thats what I had. It probably shaped me a lot since the theme was a bit morbid but that was and is me, but you know, cheerfully morbid. or you know... yeah. really those melodies sticked. and now, recovering from trauma and abuse, they help me get back to playing guitar. they are somehow very calming.
