I have a pair of winter pants Fox Defend Fire pants and there is one massive fail on them. The are warm and waterproof but all the water runs down to the uncles where the pant is narrow and tight and fits inside my 5Tens. The shoes were soaking wet in no time, I spent 4 hours riding in equally wet conditions as seen in the video and my feet were gone when I came back home. Mental note: 1 - waterproof pants need to go over the shoes and have some sort of suport holding them to the shoes so they don't pull up. The pants are good for winter cold Swedish winter but terrible for wet weather. Unless you go with wellis or similar. Which you don't normally on a bike.

Thanks for the feedback! That's a great point. Can I suggest looking into a light set of gaiters? I think this would solve your problem. They aren't something we have, but it is something you can find at many outdoor retailers. Best regards, and thanks for watching! Dan at Fanatik

do the flex air jacket fit well with downhill Elbow pads? like Poc VPD 2.0 DH? I wear base layer and a jersey then a waterproof jacket, I tried Endura MT500 II in XL & XXL and they did not fit me, I havea XXXL on order, I wear XL Fox jerseys, L alpinestars. but I haven't tried Fox jackets.
@FanatikBikeCo
@FanatikBikeCo 3 жыл бұрын
Endura stuff does fit quite small, huh. I don't know anyone who has tried that, but my guess is that it'd be a tight fit unless you did choose a size that gave you a looser fit. - Dan at Fanatik

Details - this is main factor to make a choice. You mentioned sweating in FlexAir on climbing, but you didn't mention anything about rest of jackets. I don't have any rain jacket, but in my understanding sweating is much more in 2L and 2.5L jackets. Isn't it? I have a 2L rain jacket, not special for biking. The main issue I have in that jacket is sweating and jacket sticking to my skin (because we ride in summer in light rainy days) when I'm in short sleeve t-shirt.

Dan here . I agree entirely. Unless it's very cold, I never ride in anything heavier than a light windbreaker.

@@FanatikBikeCo what "crash resistant" windbreaker jacket would you suggest? I was looking at Outdoor Research Helium as it packs in its own pocket with the size as an apple. Unfortunately it's not good for impacts. Other options I was looking is Arcteryx Squamish, 7Mesh Northwoods... what else? There is a jacket (can't remeber the name) that has a strap and can be attached to the bike.
@FanatikBikeCo
@FanatikBikeCo 2 жыл бұрын
@@alexandrucovaliov8989 The Helium is good, a lot of people I know use the Houdini from Patagonia which also packs into its own pocket. (www.fanatikbike.com/products/patagonia-houdini-jacket?variant=32714450403374). As far as crash resistant, I don't have a great answer. My 6 year old Race Face "Stash" is full of tears that I've sewn back together. These layers we're talking about are very thin, and nothing lasts forever, especially when you're dragging it across the ground after crashing. - Dan at Fanatik

How do the 3L pants fit? I’m around 6”0 wear 32-33 pants. Would a 34 or 36 fit better?
@FanatikBikeCo
@FanatikBikeCo 3 жыл бұрын
I'd say 34 so the waist isn't just way too big, but you may have a bit of a racer gap at your ankles.

@FanatikBikeCo

Hi! Doug is 5' 7.5", and he is medium for jackets usually. He has a small but its a tad slim. Their jerseys run larger though so he usually would wear a small jersey. Hopefully that helps! Dan at Fanatik

HUMMMMM? $300 to go get covered in shit and still have wet feet. I've been riding a discount outdoor companies fully waterproof breathable hiking pant and cagoule for the past 3 seasons and a pair of thinsulate GTX waterproof boots all for less than $65. I stay totally dry and warm from head to toe. I look great and it all fits well; and I don't feel bad for abusing extremely expensive kit when I finish a ride and I'm covered in crap. When will bike companies get it?
