Recently Charlie Bird took the rare and courageous step of revealing that not only was he Cosmo the Cougar from 2015 to 2018, but that he is also gay. Bob Evans say down with the former BYU mascot.

Be who you are homie. You don't know how much I wish I could enjoy the life you've had. It's fun to watch what you do, keep being who you are and keep enjoying it man. I watch your videos for hours.

I agree with his statement regarding God knowing he is gay and still loving him. 100 percent God loves him and knew he would be gay probably before Charlie did. I support LGBTQ 100 percent and I know God does too. I hope 100 years from now, there will be no need to “come out” or be afraid of being who you are.

The interviewer kept leaning towards cosmo rather than the sexuality. Take that as compliment and that being gay means hardly nothing by mostly everyone. Happy for you and live your life now being open!!!

Thank you for your honestly of who you are. We love you and thank you for being who you are and recognizing Christ in your life. Your comments and belief has given me insight of how I need to remember that member's of the LGBT community are welcomed in the church. My heart goes out to those who have felt less :( valued. Culture and diversity comes in many colors. I love this :)

Hi Charlie . God bless you for your courage, honesty & faith testimony . God's love, grace & mercy is for everyone who believes & trusts in him (John 3:16) . God created us and wants us to be honest to who we are . God does not make mistakes . As a gay Christian man, I honestly believe there is "greater" eternal purpose for gay men & women to bring glory to His name . Mark (Toronto)

Just curious, what is BYU's views on homosexuality?
@goaliegrizz89252 жыл бұрын
As a Mormon it’s not encouraged but you do not get kicked out or turned away from the church.

Well thats a big shocker? Seems like a great guy and I can't stop watching his dancing bc its absolutely beyond amazing. But really, what are the odds a great hip hop dancer is gay? That should be the headline
@jasonmenke74233 жыл бұрын
Really sorry about the shame. But his dancing is soo amazing. In these days if you still hold that view towards being gay then you need to get over it. Guess my point is his dancing is such a more interesting story than a few backwards/blind ppl.

I wonder what benefit is gained by a Mormon coming out of the closet? Not that there's any particular beneift by remaining in the closet. But still ... ? Why come out? And I say that as a gay BYU graduate from long ago.

2019. Being gay or coming out doesn't make a person special.

But it's really hard for members of the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints. Although it's more accepted, opening up about anything hard for you personally places you in a really vulnerable position. I'm really glad he did this interview. It also helps people like me better understand why it's hard for them.

Being in gay in a very conservative and Mormon community is courageous ... they hate gays and at most pretend to be tolerant
@krysaliyah4 жыл бұрын
jss pss - u r so wrong. I’m LDS - I don’t hate & I don’t pretend; neither do my entire community and many that I know outside of it. So please try to get over the stereotypical perception. Just saying. Total respect for this amazing young man. Go Cougars!
@alexlindstrom5554 жыл бұрын
Jss Pss There are some cultural barriers...but there are lots of gay people in the Church. There are even gay people who support the Church and it’s teachings on the definition of marriage and sexual behavior. I mean literally no one has ever told me that I can’t love a man. After all...love is love, right? In fact, I’m commanded to love my fellow men. I know people usually bring up the fact that I’m discouraged from sexual relations and from actually being married to a man, but what in that constitutes hatred of gay people?
@brynne50784 жыл бұрын

I'm sorry, but as a Christian myself, didn't Adam and Eve eat the apple and gained wisdom/free will. Thus human decendants obtained the free will to make their own decisions. I am a woman married to a man. And I hope my children follow that route as I personally do not believe in it, however I will still love them no matter what. And I do have gay/lesbian friends. And I don't believe in pushing my beliefs on anyone else. But if anyone has any questions that want to talk that's different.
@Elena-kp8bn3 жыл бұрын
Don't ever say "I have gay friends, I can't be homophobic". That's literally the dumbest thing to say, as a gay person myself I've had homophobic friends.
@suvariboy3 жыл бұрын
The story of Adam & Eve is an allegory. They weren’t real people. We’re all made in God’s image, including LGBTQ people.
@hotlatte32303 жыл бұрын
I believe God loves us all no matter what also. And my meaning of having friends is that I'm more interested in their personality and who they are rather than labeling.
@brendanaomi2043 жыл бұрын
@@suvariboy how do you know that they were not real? You were not alive at the time. Where do you base the existence of God from? I wish y'all would stop placing God in this LGBTQ topic. Yes it is a fact that He loves all despite our differences and yes we are supposed to love each other as God loves us. Can't we just leave it at that?
@refinnej53023 жыл бұрын
@@brendanaomi204 " how do you know that they were not real?" It is obvious you never attended college. One can't prove a negative. You must prove that they existed.

Homosexuality is and has always been a sinful behavior. Sin and Christianity are incompatible. While we all sin, only the LGBTQ+ community believe it is possible to embrace sin and take "pride" in it. Squinting your eyes while reading God's commandments and finding loopholes in the gospel is merely the guise of Satan tempting the faithful away from the path of righteousness.
