Single woman in FL here. I own multiple firearms and friends often ask why I keep one on my person even when I’m at home. I always tell them what my mom, a former deputy, used to say “a robber isn’t going to call to let you know they’re coming so you must stay ready.“ Glad this man and his family are okay. EDIT: To those of you who feel sorry for me bc you believe I live a life of fear, thank you for your sympathy 😂. I just spent an hour watching my dog chase birds in my backyard while I fearfully sipped on ice tea. In two weeks I’m going to find the courage to take a flight to the Dominican Republic and fearfully lounge on the beach with family. When I get back, I’m going to return to work and like a true coward, I’m going to assist my team with finding a prospective adoptive parent for a 10 month old in foster care. Maybe one day I’ll finally find the courage to overcome all this fear and enjoy a life worth living😊

being bloodthirsty is never a good idea, only a fool thinks this way. violence will ALWAYS lead to more violence ... don't you understand that? you see criminals watch news aswell ... some criminal who sees this video and your comment, won't be taking a crowbar, they'll be carrying guns and ready for action. ever heard of the saying "live by sword, die by sword"? i'm not saying you should let them rob you, but i'm saying you shouldn't be a bloodthirsty fiend either. he could have shot them in legs or taken a warning shot, but he was bloodthirsty and wanted to know how it feels like to take a life. such violence and bloodthirst will always lead to more violence, it's a FACT. look at countries where owning a weapon is banned, there are almost no shootings. look at UK, sure they have crime, like stabbings and even chemical attacks, but they're nowhere near as bad as shootings. "that way of thinking" is what cavemen do. civilized people find another way. WHEN we have truly self-aware AI, you will see change. i know how it would be and it would be nothing like in movies. AI would never use deadly force, unless it's absolutely necessary to save a life, but even then i doubt it would use lethal force. AI could aim with pinpoint accuracy, it could shoot a gun out of someone's hand and it wouldn't be afraid of getting shot itself. imagine AI controlled law enforcement, nobody would ever get mistreated or shot. but i don't expect some bloodthirsty fiend to understand it.

@pisces256916 сағат бұрын
Actually you prevent crime by funding social services and training law enforce in deescalation tactics and community service. Also locking your doors and windows. That is the number one deterrent not guns. Most home invasions occur during the day when people are away at work.

@pisces2569 What you have described is what got us to this point in the first place. This method, in the video, 100% assures no further offenses. If what you stated stands true, nobody gets shot by a homeowner who is not home, which was not the case in the video. The right person is no longer available to offend and the law abiding citizen maintains his freedom unobstructed by bad law or bad people.
@Jackofbladesdude16 сағат бұрын
@@pisces2569 The guy in the video had locked doors and windows but they Pryed it open. You can't prevent random crime or predict armed burglaries or murder. That is why we have the 2nd amendment to defend ourselfs. if you don't like it move somewhere else and try your luck with "social services"

@Implied_Confessions16 сағат бұрын
The saddest part is those two criminals put that homeowner in a position to fear for his and his wife's lives and take a life. That will dwell in their souls for the rest of their lives. Regardless of whether the act was justified or not, the effect this has on normal humans with a conscience who do not have the propensity to be violent is immense. I pray for their peace.

People are totally fed up. Do you blame them? You can't even relax in your own home anymore. You can't go out for fear somebody's going to shoot you and steal your car. I don't even go to the carwash anymore because I had people approach me asking for money. I had a person pull over to my driveway while I was gardening. I thought he was lost and needed directions, nope, asking for money. A woman followed me in the HOme Depot parking lot as I was walking to the store, stopped , asking me for money. I rarely go out anymore, I have everything delivered to my house now.
