100 year old man has a mental breakdown on camera and you people are really sitting here like, "see this proves I'm right". Like stop using this man's clearly fragile mental state as a tool to spread your crappy politics. The man is right, us of the younger generations don't have the same opportunities that people like him have, but that's the fault of his own generation. People that did not care and to this day still don't care about what they did / do to this country because they're going to be gone soon anyway. His generation did Jim crow, they did the war on drugs, they cut taxes and defunded schools. They made it harder to get a college education because they think young people don't work hard enough etc. They helped cover up the history of this country just to help spread racist sentiments and they continue to do so every time they go vote. I feel bad for this man but i have no sympathy for his generation and much less respect for them. They got everything they could out of this country and then said we couldn't afford to do the same for the generations that follow and now they are shocked at the state of this country. Give me a break

The US needed their money back, and nobody had the money to pay. Many countries went into massive debt like Japan, Germany, United Kingdom - you name it they owed. This kicked off a multitude of great regrets the world has. Hitler came into power legitimately by promising Bread and Work "Brot und Arbeit" - Japan invaded Manchuria and raped it. And Italy rose into Fascism, tested their war crimes in Ethiopia known as Abyssinia back then. And of course the Spanish Civil War, which showed the world the strength of the Luftwaffe. The Depression caused World War II The world went into catastrophe through the Great Depression, I've heard economists say the times we are currently in is so much worse than the Great Depression it is beyond compare. Russia invading Ukraine, cost of living crisis, mass homelessness and fuel prices are only the beginning. Only a few years ago a Third World War seemed silly! As Malcom X said, the chickens are coming home to roost. A city built on blood is an abomination. So why have so many conveniently forgotten that is America's foundation? America has given reparations to literally every single demographic under the sun EXCEPT to the very ones they stole, burned, mutilated, sodomized, raped, castrated, breeded like animals, destroyed their families, stripped their names, identity, culture, fed them pig, and forced them to build their infrastructure for free for over 200 years. What a great head start to generational wealth! And after that...there was even MORE reparations for the poor Massa who lost his money makers after the year 1865. So tell me...how was this just? How is this right? How was it noble?? Americans stole this land and believe they have rights to their wrongs. But I thank the Most High with all of my heart that He is not a man who is deaf dumb and blind. He saw EVERYTHING. Every nation...even America..will reap what they have sown. And seeing very clearly she doesn't believe in righting her wrongs...HE WILL make it right. Therefore, I have no sympathy for the tears of the descendants who benefitted off of the blood streaked backs of mine. The same who have the audacity to this very day, I should simply "get over it". America is Spiritual Egypt. See Deuteronomy 28:68. She is the land of my captivity. She is the fourth beast kingdom as prophesied by Daniel the prophet. She is Mystery Babylon the Great. See Jeremiah 50,51, Isaiah 14 and Rev 18:4. She is the nation that has lead all nations into sin and wickedness through bribery corruption and witchcraft. My grandmother was born in 1894. She said much the same thing. Here parents took her west to Kansas where they homesteaded. She want to Kansas State University (then the Kansas School of Agriculture) and become the first woman to graduate for that institution. She became a teacher. She lived through the depression and the dust bowl. My mother was 7 years old when the dust bowl got started. My grandparents could have given up, but they didn't. They kept working and struggling and continued to try to help build a better country and a better tomorrow. My dad reached his 18th birthday just a few months before Pearl Harbour was bombed. He enlisted in the Navy soon thereafter. He became a medical corpsman on a great big battleship. After the war he went to college on the GI Bill. Then came Korea, and he was recalled to active duty. He then served on a tiny little destroyer escort, again as a medical corpsman. His education was interrupted, but he didn't complain. He served, then went back to college and earned an MD. I came along when he was in medical school. It was difficult raising a child while trying to get through medical school with only the GI Bill and the money my mother and he could earn from his part time job, but they made it. They were in extreme poverty the whole time through. We lived in the projects in St. Louis while he struggled to work and get through school all with a baby in tow, but he persevered, and succeeded. My parents set an excellent example for me, and to honour their efforts I worked as hard as I could on my studies in order that I could get into the best university I could. I went to one of the very best, and with my parents' effort in mind, I became the only woman in ROTC at the time. I graduated with honours, and served as I'd been trained to do. Then, like my father, my mother, and my grandparents, I returned to school and worked my way through a PhD, this time at one of the world's best universities. I had my baby, and I raised him in the tradition of my family, taking delight in the day, and the little serendipitys which grace us every day. When his country called, he served, but he paid with his life. My only child paid with his life. Yet I see so many people who do not care. They don't care about our sacrifice and they don't care enough to be informed and to vote. They think it won't make a difference, when in fact it is the ONLY thing that will make a difference. I see the decline brought on by greed and corruption, and I see no one willing to work to rid the country of it, or really to work for much of anything. I don't understand. I really don't understand. And like the man in this video, I fear greatly for the future of this nation. I lost my child, and my husband died of cancer. I was hit by a drunk driver about 20 years ago and am paralyzed from the shoulders down as a result. It hurts me deeply when I find that the aides who take care of my have no clue what's going on and won't vote to change the things they see are wrong. It hurts that they have no ambition to improve themselves further than where they are. I can and do try to give them guidance, but in the end I am responsible only for myself, and if they don't see a future for themselves other than what they're doing, and don't want to strive for something better, what can I do? Nothing except enjoy the day anyhow, and hope that somehow the country I love will find a way to pull through as a free nation, not one misguided by a wrongly placed sense of nationalism. Love for country isn't expressed by right wing or left wing political views. It is expressed by continuing to do the best you can in the interest of building a better future. Without almost everyone working toward that goal we cannot succeed. One of my teachers in college admonished me once when I'd spent a weekend slacking off, "You can't coast for long unless you're going downhill." There are a lot of people who are coasting, and spending more time attacking each other. Unless we can put our differences aside and work for a better tomorrow for all our citizens then we will be coasting and going downhill, and the things that many of us sacrificed for will be wasted. I hate that I will die seeing it all thrown away. I weep with him because, even though I have not been granted the years he's had, I understand all too well where those tears are coming from. We are of one heart, he and I. We see it happening, and we are powerless to do anything about it. We weep. We fear. Was it all for nothing? He and I will never know. We will have to go to our end with an unanswered question on our minds. We will do so however, seeing the beauty which remains in life in spite of what is going on. It doesn't take things to be happy. It only takes being thankful for every single day and every single hour, and what our all too short lives are filled with, and to be grateful for it. Please. Redouble your efforts. Have goals for improving yourself and to improve your country. Start learning about current events, and vote. If there are onl tyrants running, run yourself. Love your country. Love your life. Thanking us for our service then doing nothing with what we've fought for is no thanks at all. Show us you appreciate our service by doing your best for yourself AND your country. It's an uphill struggle, but you don't get to the mountain top by coasting. Don't thank us for our service unless you are willing to prove that you mean it. But please, do mean it. Please, let us live to see the change. Start now.

Rest in peace good sir. Thank you for your sacrifice you made. I'm sorry that the country you fought for isn't the same country today. It truly is heartbreaking.

The country he grew up in was a country where women couldn’t vote, segregation was rampant, and adult men were marrying girls under 10 and being congratulated in newspapers. Say what you want about the modern era, but it’s ridiculous to act like we’ve gotten worse.

"We haven't got the country we had when I was raised" And thank god it isn't. It is such a better country today than it was in the 40's, 50's, and 60's. I don't have to worry about being hauled off to jail for sitting in the wrong section of the bus or being assaulted for being "too uppity" and going to college.

I see memories, yeah... and lamentation. Memories of a country he would die to protect, and lamentation over the fact that it no longer exists. He weeps upon realizing that the country he grew up in and fought for is essentially gone and the thing that has replaced it is something that he would never in a million years go to war to protect. That is likely how he spent his final years: full of regret, grief and confusion. You say "God bless him", I say God have mercy on him for he knew not what he did.
