The funny part is that English and Spanish are akin and people don't know to what extent. The only word mentioned that is unrelated to English is _perro_ since it's preromanic but the rest are even similar in spelling. Interestingly, _acercarse_ means "to come closer" and is related to "search"; both come ultimately from Latin _circus_ ("circle"). The only difference is that Spanish stays true to its Latin ancestry and English reflects its Germanic complex inherited phonology and morphology.

Noto a la mujer muy reacia a intentar el español, el simple hecho de pensar que es imposible ha se convierte en la barrera. Personalmente siento que al no querer intentar el español realiza un cierto rechazo hacia nuestro idioma, lo siento, pero lo veo algo irrespetuoso

Should try some 'Mexican Spanish' words that are derived from Nahua {Aztecs} diffrent from 'Spainish Spanish" {derived from latin} like guajolote (Turkey, the bird, which in spain is 'Pavo').

Both are used in Mexico, Pavo I would say is used way more in the regions that weren’t part of the Aztec Empire.
