As our new Mayor Cherelle Parker said she can't do this alone. Let's all come together to work and change this city for the better. Let's work as one Philly.

If you watch the clip, you will see her compassion for Philadelphia. I believe this is what pushed her to be mayor. I send prayers out to the new mayor and her cabin as she regain trust with the citizens of Philadelphia and strengthens the police force with the new police commissioner to de-escalate confrontation in the crime spree across the city. Let’s give them time to work there skills into action. All we can do is pray the better days are ahead of ourselves. This woman made history and a little black girls across Philadelphia can really have someone to look up to not this in the history books. I believe we’re going to see new and big things coming from Mayor Parker, and that she’ll be able to rally the city for all to contribute to this vision outlined. With affordable housing, I hope she considers building in a way that harmonizes with the city’s historic homes and will contribute to neighborhood beauty for many yrs. to come. The cheaply built, modern look is short-sighted and will be an eyesore in ten yrs. A contractor told me he’s already seeing problems in these homes built 10 and 15 yrs ago, whereas solid masonry homes have been standing for over 100 yrs.

political came to mean “cunning” or “temporizing.” Today, the political sphere may more readily be imagined as contaminating the common man rather than the other way around. To call someone “political” is rarely a compliment. The adjectival form that once connoted good government, which was synonymous with “judicious” and “insightful,” now activates an altogether different set of connotations: “calculating” and, perhaps more of a piece with our political moment, “partisan.” The crux of this semantic fall from prudence to mere expediency seems to lie in a correlative historical shift: politics, once viewed as a space of quasi-transcendental stability, is now viewed as an arena of profound contingency. Honestly I wish her all the best in making Philadelphia a better place although I’ve been here for 25 years and have seen many people tried to make it a better place and unfortunately it didn’t work. This what we have here right now is an accumulation of years of neglect and mismanagement of the city and it’s going to take years to make it better.

Sounds like hard working citizens that have been footing the bill to pay for all this crap are being overlooked. Nothing for homeowners choosing to stay in this city? Tax break, low interest home improvement loans? You can give tax abatement to developers but nothing for people who do the right thing everyday huh? Why should I stay here when I can sell my house and move out? That’s what’s going to happen in Philly…again bcs that’s how it’s always been. @@indieoak 2 Peter 3 King James Version 3 This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance: 2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour: 3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, 4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. 5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: 6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: 7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. 8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
