I saw this fire yesterday with my own 2 eyes in my backyard with nothing obstructing my wide panoramic view. It completely stopped and was smoke clearing for at least an hour and the wind died down. Then as soon as fire trucks became visible on the mountain (previously it was just emergency helicopters) suddenly the fire started again and was in 3 different places. Unbelievable. Have videos of before and after.

There's a shooting range on Otay Mountain and pretty much nothing else up there. They have started several fires before with gunfire ricocheting off the rocks and that is a fact. Extremely heavy Border Patrol presence up there but they are way too smart to do anything that would have sparked this. This has almost got to be the shooting range again. Especially since so many are going up to practice shooting fellow Americans in planning for our next civil war.

If I were homeless, and I lived in the brush-- and many people do in San Diego County -- I would light a fire in the evening to keep warm and/or to cook. If I did this, and the wind kicked up, the chances or probability increase that my fire would spread, and quickly.
