My main problem with Madison Coen is the fact that after seeing several of her friends being stabbed, one of them being literally disemboweled, the first thing she says to police is that SHE had been punched in the face! It’s unbelievable! Everyone else is worried about getting help to the victims as soon as possible, and she is crying about herself!
@Ararechan7410 ай бұрын
No, this makes sense since that's what happened first and law enforcement would ask how SHE was involved in this scenario

I believe that’s probably why we haven’t seen her. I had thought this exact thing. Immediately as the police arrive all she can say “I got punched in the face” I thought to myself heifer, I want to punch you myself. Even dude behind her is stabbed and he is screaming for them to go help the other people. Damn I wish she would never walked over to the group of buys (trying to help eye roll 🙄) she literally thru the match… (figuratively speaking) Now i don’t blame her 100 percent but with her being so arrogant it’s hard not shift a little fault towards her part. I’m not going to lie though, I’m getting really bad vibes from the defendant. Something is definitely off. It’s been a long time since I’ve been this invested in the outcome of this trial. My opinion goes back and forth and I don’t think anybody at this point could know what the outcome will be. My heart breaks for Isaac and his mama. The whole situation is so stupid and not worth anybody’s life.

Be ashamed for not holding this pack of attack animals accountable. The mob is 💯 culpable. Jawan C. incited his mob buddies and Maddie Cohen & Rhyley Matteson both put their hands on Miu first, after verbally accosting him and inciting the violence that ensued. The now angry mob surrounded Miu and attempted to beat and force him - face down - in the water. I hope the Miu’s and their fellow tubers all file civil suits against each one of these cruel people for their vile and violent assault They should have simply left him alone. If they honestly suspected him of something nefarious, their response should have been to report it to park rangers or police. Same goes for the men who beat and held him down. Exactly. The Jury needs to consider all Miu's lies. An innocent person doesn't have the need nor desire to lie in my opinion, maybe some innocent people do, but it's a really bad move to do that. Now of course he was being harassed by those young men, but all he had to do was leave, or just not even approach them in the first place. Everyone was not in the right here. Many made poor choices and it all ended how it ended. No one wins.

Exactly! He would’ve just gone straight home if the police wouldn’t have caught up with him at the end of the river. He was definitely trying to evade law enforcement and if what he claims really happened.. he should’ve called 911 himself on the teens before he started slashing them with a knife, or at least called 911 afterwards to get someone to help them right away.. he didn’t neither he just went on about his business like nothing ever happened.

Based on the jury instructions, the jurors are called to put themselves in Miu shoes. And by doing the same, I find it very unlikely that any amount of anger caused Miu to slap a woman in her face, knowing that he's surrounded by a bunch of drunk teens chanting his despise. It's a suicide mission. Additionally, there is no evidence that he was drunk, psychotic, or filled with any blind type of blind rage to not consider any of those factors before acting. He probably pushed someone's hand out his face and that hand knocked Madison's sunglasses off and the teens found that as an opportunity to continue gaslighting the situation to justify attacking him. He's alone, standing in water, out of shape and surrounded by multiple, drunk rowdy teens. There is no way he just ignored all of that and started swinging. That's literally a death sentence, and fighting back with his hands would prove to be futile, seeing the current circumstances of his health, position and the teens' methods to gaslight anything to justify their actions. In the eyes of Miu, it was either kill or be killed. And this is what the defense is aiming to convince the jury of.

If anyone knows: if Nick Miu is acquitted can he bring a civil lawsuit against the group of people involved? Is this why they are all sticking with the same story? Not necessarily to possibly convict an innocent man but to save themselves from criminal or civil judgment?
@lisawhite46989 ай бұрын
Yes, anyone can sue anyone…whether a judge throws it out without the suit being heard is another matter. I would think most of the victims should be able to sue both the defendant (for being stabbed- when they were not armed) in this case and the guy starting “the riot”… Jawaan - I think is his name. Nicolae could sue now but he would be in a much better place to sue once he is acquitted (if he is). I think he could sue Jawaan for defamation “Raper” … “looking for girls” and videoing the comments for all to see/hear. Don’t know if he would win due to first amendment rights… however, as it could be argued this entire incident took place due to Jawaan’s “statements” about Nicolae… he might have a chance. Nicolae could also sue the men that hit/shoved him down for assault civilly… it’s much easier to win a civil suit then a criminal case. If Nicolae is acquitted he could also sue the City, the prosecution, etc. as he has been in jail all this time for “defending himself” AND they should not have arrested him or filed charges against him. A great example of this is the OJ Simpson cases… the jury acquitted him due to they thought the prosecution did NOT prove the suspect’s “guilt beyond a reasonable doubt”. In the civil case the victims families were able to prove their case by a “preponderance of the evidence”, meaning that their version of events is more likely right than wrong. I think the physically injured parties and the criminally injured party all have a good chance at winning civilly…DEPENDING ON THE ATTORNEYS they choose and their reasons for suing. I’ve heard the only reason he and his wife went through their divorce in March of 2024 was due to all the possible civil suits being filed if and when he is found guilty (if he is). I am sure he has been extremely generous in his divorce “giving ALL ASSETS TO HIS former wife”! If this was truly the reason they divorced. They could also say “of course he gave everything (home, savings, etc.) to his wife is because he felt terrible about putting her in this situation AND he thought he might be going to prison for years”.

Have you never seen someone after a bad car accident (even when they’re not severely hurt) just walking around like a zombie, not making sense in the things they’re saying? Extreme stress can make you shut down mentally and you go into this autopilot mode. I have PTSD and one time someone slammed a door in my face and I blacked out and woke up 14 hours later, having no recollection of punching the wall, walking to my room, closing the door, and crawling into bed. I didn’t even know I could punch a hole in a wall (I’m a woman) and I learned all this from my friend who was at my house with me. I agree with you-and you bet that, if I were sitting on that jury, the way Miu behaved after the stabbing wouldn’t help him. I get the self-defense argument and I’m sympathetic to him, but I feel that not rendering aid, not identifying himself to the police, attempting to blend in and leave, all those behaviors suggest consciousness of guilt rather than suggesting a man who was victimized, genuinely feared for his life, defended himself, and then did what he could to clear up the situation once the cops showed up. Had he called 911 after the stabbing, and had he approached the officers even if only to say ‘hey, I’m the guy you’re looking for, I acted in self-defense because 13 of them surrounded me, showed me, and I thought they were about the drown me , and now I need a lawyer,’ I would be more persuaded of the merits of the self-defense claim, I think.

Worse than when the gals did come over, he actually started taking to them and that may have let to led to the end if he was able to explain and say his peace. But no, the same fellas that were out of line and started all that got even louder and more unruly and started saying harsher stuff yet even louder. Again if they would of just stfu again they gals may have been able to have a reasonable chat and defuse it all. But that didn't have a chance because once they fellas said he was looking for lil girls and what not it got the girls fired up and unruly as well. I ll admit the guy might be a lil off looking but I only saw a look that had me like damn when they were saying he was on record and he was looking for lil girls. when he looked back at the boys at that point i was like damn and so should they have cause he snapped right after that. and the video doesn't show who put hands on who first, but as soon as he was in the water they all should of back up and off him. Quinton saw him touching their tubes from behind before going in front of them which is when Jawahn started the video. He did it because Miu was not verbally communicating well enough. He was mostly non-verbal when he approached a group of drunk young people. His friend, Eric encouraged him not to go over to the group of strangers. He did it anyway to look for a phone. But, he didn't communicate clearly and didn't respond to them verbally like a normal person. Instead he ran up and lunged towards Jawahn and Labdon. He had his snorkel in his mouth when he was running up to them. He looked for it after he touched them. A lot of bad happened from him, from G1 to him and from G2 because apparently Maddie and Ryhley touched him. He never needed to use a knife. He could have communicated SOMETHING and done do to deescalate the whole. He might be on the autism spectrum which might explain why he was mostly non-verbal the entire time. If a normal person walked up to a group of strangers they woud be saying a lot and explain why they were so close to their bodies, in this case, their tubes. No one should have touched another person in the first part and the second part which includes G2. G1 didn't touch him. G2 was defending Maddie. A lot of actions and reactions were wrong.

If he never lunged at Jawahn and Landon, who were not standing up, and just let them pass, everyone would be uninjured now. But, he was mostly non-verbal in all the situations. He could have communicated better before he approached them. He wasn't clearly communicating. He was never verbally defending himself. A normal person would have. So, I see him as part of the problem. Maddie and Ryhley touched him while G1 simultaneously continued verbally abusing him adding to the problems but not enough to warrant him pulling out the knife. He was never in enough danger to use the knife. A normal person would have behaved differently and communicated SOMETHING, a lot more, verbally. I think it's possible he is on the autism spectrum and undiagnosed because of how non-verbal he was compared to how a normal person would have behaved. I'm not defending him. It just makes sense and might explain why he wasn't very verbal. I'm watching each day in order now, on fast speed to catch up. He did wrong. They did wrong, too. A lot of people did wrong. I understand why he was afraid. But, he allegedly hit Maddie who wasn't trying to hurt him. Then the guys thought they were defending her. So, there are misunderstandings going on, too. It's a mess! I like the judge.

Why did this grown ass man not disengage with these youthful pricks? Nope, he runs at them and grabs at them.. Like come on... @Holdings-gy5hb10 ай бұрын
The state definitely has not proven he smacked her or initiated the conflict beyond a reasonable doubt. The video tape does not definitively prove he actually threw the first punch. The prosecution has not proven, beyond a reasonable doubt, that Miu was the aggressor, which is one of the criteria needed to prove intent that comes with the charges he is on trial for. Actually in my opinion, today with the states witness who digitally replicated the crime scene with the drone hurt the state's case today when he hesitated and refused to answer the defense's questioning when they asked him who he thought the aggressors were from his interpretation of the main video clip. The first female witness also stated the female who approached Miu may have touched him/initiated it first after she watched the video and recalled her version of events. She states the defendant was NOT aggressive and that the female who approached him was aggressive towards Miu. There is absolutely doubt on who the aggressor was. Additionally, state of WI does not have a duty to retreat law so he wasn't legally required to back away. Both groups had ample opportunity to leave and neither had more of an obligation to leave a public area than the other. From the videos that have been released so far, he only started using his weapon after he had been pushed by at least two people, almost pushed under water, hands were also found around his neck in multiple still frames shown, all before he used his weapon. "He was the only person armed". In law, hands can be seen as weapons and if his counsel sees fit, they can argue the defendant feared for his life due to the number of people surrounding him, using their own limbs as weapons. The state has to also prove his intent was murder. There will be at least one juror who can logically see Miu's goal/intent was to keep himself alive. It will, most likely, be a hung jury. Mistrial and retried in a different case, in which he will still have a pretty good case for self-defense as well. Edit* I'd also like to add, I think Miu will eventually get a settlement from the state for his past imprisonment for the last two years and should go after the people who claimed he was a pedophile for defamation if he eventually gets acquitted. I know Miu's wife divorced him so they didn't lose all their assets if he gets sued in civil court but honestly, I think those involved who claimed he was being a pedophile should probably be worried about a future lawsuit.

Lots of comments saying that Madison never got hit by Miu. Clearly, that's an issue because it wasn't captured on camera. But, the other girl that got stabbed and organs were coming out of her side - the stabbing wasn't caught on camera - was that stabbing a fabrication as well? Maybe someone else stabbed her? Crazy stuff. Also, Madison had sunglasses on, then just seconds later her face is turned with a pained expression, her sunglasses are gone, all of the kids charge at him independently at the same time and Dante Carlson punches him saying, "you never hit a woman". That's enough evidence for most reasonable people.
@PneumaNoose10 ай бұрын
From everything I’ve gathered thus far, I think Miu pushed her off of him (which could knock her glasses off). And not only did she not fall nor drop anything in her hands, she wasn’t wet at all. Her hair and swimsuit are dry when we see her sunglasses are off. It matters for the defense because she’s the one who initiated physical violence against Miu. She put hands on him FIRST after he told her not to touch him (as we see him gesture in the video). This defense team is brilliant and they’re gonna present one helluvah case.
@sargecomstat47559 ай бұрын
You can see the end of his arm movement toward her and then her reaction, though. There is no such indication with Madison. When the camera pans back Madison's head whips around to yell something over her shoulder. And as she does this Miu already has multiple people on him. At least some of the witnesses seem to have interpreted this head movement as caused by her being struck. For instance: Jenelle (I think is the name of the witness) said she saw Madison's hair whip and the right side of Madison's face turned toward her. Well, this is the only time that happens. And it wasn't because she was struck. It is similar to the mob working themselves up into a frenzy while making him out to be a creepy pedophile based off of nothing. In reality he was just a bit eccentric, snorkeling in shallow water. The alleged punching of Madison seems to have developed in a similar manner. Most likely it was based off very little or nothing at all. The mob was primed and only needed the slightest trigger. And witnesses bring up the "inhuman look in Miu's eyes." But look at Dante the moment before he struck Miu. He actually looks to me like he is the one itching for a fight.

While most Romanians are not nearly as effusive and physically expressive as many Americans are, we do emote, respond, and engage appropriately with the world. Those of us that grew up during Ceausescu’s years might be more reserved and less likely to volunteer personal information, but this guy seems to have his very own pathology. He’s blank, stunned and not all there in an extreme way that I don’t think I’ve ever seen before. This is a weird Miu thing; it’s not ‘pre-1989 Romanian’ thing. Dude’s an oddball of colossal proportions.

@@coriolisse I couldn't understand his emotionless state especially after critically injuring someone and seriously injuring others. Something is not right.
