Nice video. The GT 40 style intake was used on 5.0 powered Explorers/Mountaineers to get some extra low end torque. Since I've had many many Lincoln Mark 7 LSC's another Pull a part score is finding a 5.0 4X4 Mountaineer and checking for the X code 4:10 rear gear set. Also on my 1990 and up 5.0 Lincoln blocks I have found that they are cast in Mexico with a higher Nickel content compared to a regular 5.0 Mustang block. Have a 91 Mark 7 LSC that has just turned over 422k miles. Have gone thru 3 AOD transmissions, 6 set of brakes and Michellin "Green" 225/60/16 tires. 2 W.P and radiators and every 150k miles I swap out the timing chain and gears. Other than doing a strutmaster coil spring conversion- Using a 1993 SN95 Power brake booster to get rid of the factory booster.

Hey man I wanted to say thank you for the free info. Tuitions aren't always free. Please keep the videos going your doing awesome. I have a question. Knowing that the GT40 heads have a bigger combustion chamber and bigger exhaust valves then the gt40p heads but also knowing that the gt40p heads have a smaller combustion chamber with a smaller exhaust valve creating more compression in the cylinder. I am considering in the future going Turbo so I assume that the GT40 heads will do me more Justice then the gt40p heads because of the bigger combustion chamber giving me more of a ability to compress more air and fuel through boosting with those heads opposed to the gt40p heads? now I have another question if I wanted to run nitrous would the GT40 heads still be a better option or would it be the gt40p heads being the better option? Thank you and I look forward to hearing your opinion.

Not sure why people talk about EGR and needing smog in these comments? our Fox Mustangs are 30 years old... i live in a state tough on emissions here in MA, but once a car reaches 15 years old, it is emissions exempt anyway, so you can pull all that crap off... but i would save all the parts as someone in 20 years might want to buy them from you to return a Fox Mustang back to stock and they will be hard to find items like this.

Junkyard Doggs should I look for a EGR intake? I have non egr but people say egr delete is not helpful
@JunkyardDoggs7 жыл бұрын
cburford if its a street car get an egr intake. but egr does heat up the air fuel mixture and also increases the amount of carbon in the intake too
@cburford27307 жыл бұрын
Junkyard Doggs thanks for the reply. I heard that people have issues with deleting the egr and it seems like it would be easier to go pull a intake with an egr and get it for $30 down in Detroit scrapyards where I live. They have 3 1996 explorers in the yard so hoping they all have intakes still

I did the same thing, I even ported the throttle body to a 75mm throttle body and machine the upper intake and lower intake to be exactly like the Mustangs, I took mine to a machine shop and they did it for me and then i grinded down all the casting marks and now I'm powder coating it anodized red check me out at Crown customs and Coatings on Facebook

gt 40 or gt 40 p ?
@JunkyardDoggs8 жыл бұрын
yoel ramon what do you mean?
@yoelyancypompa-ramon38448 жыл бұрын
sorry meant cylinder heads.whats better gt40 or gt40P HEADS
@JunkyardDoggs8 жыл бұрын
GT40 has a bigger chamber (64CC) but it has a common spark plug angle. The GT40P is a better design but has a smaller chamber (58CC) and has a different spark plug angle so special headers are needed. On paper, GT40P are better.

You' ought to change computer from bank fired injectors to sefi for best results. Use the 5.0 HO A9L computer. system.
