Foxeer Predator v5 - 5th generation of an FPV camera

A slightly delayed review of the Foxeer Predator 5 FPV Camera. It's the 5th generation, so it should be good. It's complicated, but you have to watch it to find out.

Can you say what exactly tune do you use in your predator 5?

Tricky question but should a camera's preset settings be a reason to avoid it? I've used the joystick to tweak all of my cameras at one time or another. I have the predator v4 and v5 and the v5 is maybe a little sharper image? The real win for the predator series was always latency, whereas the caddx ratel was up to 30ms latency the predator series is under 5ms (see tests from dronemesh). You didn't mention latency, now that you have ghost, tracer etc do you think the camera latency feels good?

To be fair he appears to address just that @ 3:50 or thereabout and tunes it up to his taste as much as he felt was possible...

Haha, funny how Predator V5 is the last among many other cameras i have compared to my old and trusty Swit. Somehow I still get the most natural picture with my Runcam Swift :)

over saturation looks like watching a cartoon. seems a recurring theme, dvrs don't match the fpv feed.

T-Rex or Predator 5?

I prefer T-rex. Only yesterday ordered a couple to replace cams in a half of my fleet

@@FPVUniversity so it's that good. I operate 4 predator 4's on my guads, still no digital HD and I am thinking to upgrade to the T-rex. Only the fact is I cannot see the good quality on al the reviews on YT movies. Only your enthousiatic first view on the camera made me wonder if it would be a step up combined with my HDO's. Thanks for your reply.

ahahaah I'm so ashamed to say it( poor racing skills) but this camera is made for racing, it is supposed to look oversaturated and bright..its easier to see the colorful gates and flags at the racetrack :D

@@chriswhitehead6095 he didn't even bother to do review. I've been his subscriber since the beginning, I always give him 👍, so that says something, doesn’t it? And, I tested few (many, maybe every fpv cam), so I "think" that I am able to say that the review was not done at all.

​@@DronePlayground I agree. That wasn't a review. It was just his face telling us he didn't like the default settings. He never mentioned that the Predator has super low latency, very quick light to dark/dark to light transition speed, great shadow detail, impressive low light image with minimal 'noise' and good straight edge images with no aliasing or "jaggies" from over sharpening. Predator cams have the best image of any analog camera that I know of. The only negative is that the image is sometimes a bit blue biased, but I'd take that over runcams yellow tint.
