Holy catfish!!! I have to agree with you Nick, the camera looks pretty darn good. This is now #1 on my shopping list. From watching the video it definitely seems like the picture viability at night is somewhat better then regular retel witch is the best camera I have used for flying at night. I purchased the kangaroo because I wanted a micro cam that I could use at night and it was ok but it doesn't even come close to what this camera can do. For me this is the most exciting camrea sense the retel came out and I love that it's a nano camrea. as always thanks for another great review Nick !!

I've been a big fan of foxeer for several years now. An I've been happy with the choice. Great color, nice image even using cheap Eachine vtxs. Best part is I made my choice after watching one of your old multi-camera reviews. How you tested them was all the information I needed. To make a solid decision in my mind. From what you had presented. It was foxeer for me. Funny thing is you thought it was the caddix. Which caused me to all most immediately yell out. Come on nick! Did you watch the video you just posted? To me it was clear. But you are about one thing. Its the beholders eyes opinion. You just gave yours. I made mine neither of us is wrong. We just could see what we liked. I've been a big fan of the channel from almost the start. Before you sat in front of the camera. An I've made at least 2/3 of my purchases based on your reviews. Your methods are sound an logical. An have improved over time. So in short. 🤔 Thanks for all the sweet choices nick. 🤘 good health to you and family.

As an active FPV pilot ( freestyle, fun fly, casual racing with a buddy, NOT Multi GP ) , the camera feed is still on the top as the most important things in the hobby. The experience is always less enjoyable with a bad video feed , for myself at least. This camera, just from a side by side against most comparable cameras you have reviewed, looks so much better. May be I'm missing something as well , but I will be getting one. A great camera ( Caddx Ratel is still my favorite ) goes a long way to better flying, again, IMO.

Good one Nick. Would love to have a super-light, quiet, 1s (2s if I must) setup - like a toothpick, gnarly, quad66 or similar, that I can gently hoon around with in the evening without drawing attention from neighbours. Especially as us poor suckers in the Southern Hemisphere are descending into Winter. That's some seriously impressive night time action by the looks of things... I could very easily stitch this into an existing or future rig if I didn't already have a few too many cameras lying around unused. Oh the holes in my wallet!!
@NickBurnsFPV
@NickBurnsFPV 4 жыл бұрын
quiet props are generally the lower pitch tri blade props I suggest at least 2.5inch. As for 1s the trouble is cobbling a frame and canopy together. The best/lightest canopy is the newbeedrone canopy, but it really doesn't mount a camera like this, so we have to do some diy to get that camera mounted up.

Great review Nick, as always. The 2 questions I still have are: 1. Could you compare the low light performance vs another popular camera on the same night for a more accurate comparison? 2. How does the latency on this compare to something with extremely low latency (the Runcam Racer 2 comes to mind)? I know you don't have equipment for testing latency, but if you have an opinion on latency, I'd appreciate hearing it :). Overall this looks like an awesome camera for a dedicated low light rig, may need to pick one up when RDQ gets them in stock. Thanks Nick!

Foxeer has put out a couple good ones lately. The nano razor looks awesome as well and the price of that one can’t be beat. The toothless looks great, with an onboard dvr it almost looks better than a Runcam split. 👍

Foxeer has really released cameras pretty fast recently, makes me wonder if they spent the winter developing several cameras.

Nick Burns yep same here. I used to be a Runcam fan but lately I’ve been wanting to try out foxeer again. Sure I still have a cpl micro arrow pros but I really wanna try the razor and the toothless now.

Nick Burns I now have 4 of these on different toothpicks for racing, including a FalcoX gtb339 and a tiny trainer build, love them! The extra 2 grams isn’t even noticeable especially you shave off a little weight here and there in other spots. 👍👍

Perfect performance for my li'l ET100- certainly has me re-thinking my preduceses against Foxeer cameras... But at 58.37AUD it's a tall ask for a camera that would go on a beater micro quad! Then again, onboard voltage display is also another big win when quad has no OSD on the FC- yeah, I'll be adding it to the wishlist! :v ;) I guess I WILL be getting one when funds become available...lol!

Wow that is pretty darn good. If you want a comprable camera to compare night flying then you must check out the Baby cadex Ratel Starlight I heard that also has excellent night performance. I think that would be a good comparison and many people think that's the best thing since sliced bread.

That's looking pretty sweet. I was supposed to get a micro Toothless, but Royal Mail delivered it to an address in the UK, instead of here. And they are still investigating what went wrong. Hope they find it soon, seems like the Toothless series is Foxeer's finest hour so far.

@@NickBurnsFPV I hope so as well, I was looking forward to trying this camera. Most of these 1200tvl cmos cameras are either struggling with red (Caddx) and Foxeer until recently used to be very bluish, even when adjusting the color balance. The Toothless seems to strike a fine balance between neutral colors and high detail. This was the first time a parcel was delivered in the wrong country. I did recently have to wait about 3 months for a small RC car to arrive, shipping company claimed they had been at my door 3 times, but never saw someone, and they never left a note, which should have been done, to notify the addressee to pick up the item from the post office. Another parcel, with Mobula 6 (yay, managed to find stock somewhere!) should be in the country for over a week, but it doesn't progress any further, and mail company can't tell where it is... A while ago, one parcel with 3 quadcopters was returned to sender for the same reason, no note left in the mail box, so I never knew it could be picked up. And another parcel was supposedly delivered, but never saw it. Mail company didn't want to investigate, because the parcel was delivered due to their data, but they refused to show me "my signature" which should prove I signed for it, which I obviously didn't. It may not happen to most parcels, but it does happen too often, and apart from costing money, the biggest resource wasted is time.

@@rc-fannl7364 wow. This is really surprising. Really rough to be a hobby where we have to rely on shipping to only lose so much.

@@NickBurnsFPV Indeed, especially since it seems to have gotten worse the past year. In some cases the sender was kind enough to resend some items, but most of the times, they can't, either because it's against company policy, or the item is simply out of stock by then. It's to be expected that things go wrong sometimes, to err is human, I can accept that, I am far from perfect too. But since there is no alternative, I can't drive to the hobby shop around the corner, and get the same item, but pay a little more, you need to be able to rely on shipping. And the worst part is that most shipping companies don't want to deal with you, and when reporting an issue, they don't start to look what went wrong. Often their advice is to either just wait some more, or tell you to contact the sender, which usually takes a few more days to get a response, and the sender then has to ask the shipping company to investigate. Which also usually takes weeks, and may still not get you any answers. Royal Mail is still not giving any answers why the camera, with address in the Netherlands, ended up being delivered to an address in the UK. You'd almost have to order things you need twice, hoping to maximize chances on at least one order getting through. However, I don't have the funding to do that. So instead I just have to consider each time, if I really need something bad enough to take the risk on the parcel getting stuck underway, or lost, or pay a lot extra for shipping, like DHL, and be sure to get it, but ending up paying about as much on shipping as on the actual item. I still have things to fly, so can't complain there, but especially like to try some of these new cameras, since these can really give a big improvement in the overal FPV experience, like Baby Ratel, Toothless, etc, instead of being stuck with EOS2, RunCam Nano 2 (which has quite a variance in image quality, some are nice, some just as reddish as the older Caddx cams) and RunCam Micro Swift. Which has nice color balance and light handling, but lacks the fine detail that a good 1200tvl camera can provide. It would be nice to have a taste of this new experience, but if this delivery situation continues, that won't be happening anytime soon...
