My guess is that Emilia go so bad on her trial that Satella was able to easily take her like a vessel since her mind was so weak. Like why does satella have the power to grant "immortality", but echidna has to research/experiment to gain a similar ability. Also, how the hell does satella show up in the sanctuary. How can she be in sanctuary and walk around? Where is she physically located in the world? I have to admit this show has me hooked and I feel a huge part of that is how it makes me want to know the answers to all these questions and more.

That is because she didn't want someone else to get involved in the Throne Fight, with her special appearance, pretending to be the Jealous Witch is the fastest way to scare people away. Why did satella choose subaru Satella says that she loves Subaru for "giving her light, showing her the outside world, holding her hand when she was lonely, and kissing her when she was all alone," and effectively giving her a reason to live. ... Satella has return from death, imagine how many lifes she could have lived. If in any of this timelines she felt in love with subaru and then reseted that would explain why she loves him so much. Satella with return from death don´t need to be emilia. And even if subaru tells satella that he loves rem or emilia more, she after going trough countless loops, she knows the real subaru even more than subaru knows himself, that would explain why she doesn´t care what subaru says. The main reason you can tell why satella actually loves subaru rationally. Is that she kills subaru if he ever reveals he has return from death. Something that always bothered me is that in the first or second episode, Emilia actually tells Subaru that her name is Satella and Puck gives some remark on that. So I believe they definetly have some connection. That moment when I noticed the reason he isnt in love with Emilia. The anime and manga said Emilia look like Satella . Satella gave Subaru that ability . Satella and Subaru met in person somehow and fell in love with eachother . The voice who he heard I'll save you was his own and he was saying it to Satella. Emilia never needed help and was protected by Puck. Rem is on the same level as Emilia or higher than her but he still chose Emilia which is only because she looks like Satella. Emilia isnt even in love with Subaru but automatically Subaru is drawn to her. Subaru just chased the image of Satella . Although his memories are gone Satella face , presence and existence is still there with him and he chases after her. Satella was never the villain and just his lover. In fact Satella killed off the other witches which was the best thing she could do. They were ignorant , uncaring and dangerous including Echidna and the little girl who have such a dumb mindset on sin as if she herself doesnt commit sin but tries to judge others and kill the innocents , then the other which who made such terrible beasts that kills and hunts down everything til nothing is left. Subaru lost his memories. Satella remembers everything. Honestly , Satella did everyone a favor. Pandora was a villain but the other witches are the actual villains of the story besides the healing witch . This explains heavily on the reason the anime and manga revolves heavily around Satella and Subaru. In fact Satella is the first one after Subaru who we're all introduced to in the manga and anime.

A few problems, Subaru has stated his reason for loving Emilia and ppl like Gar can tell when he’s being sincere as he stated in ep 8. Puck isn’t always able to save Emilia as we’ve seen in season 1 and she would have died at various points if not for Subaru it wasn’t because he suddenly got involved, same events would have happened and the bad results would still play out if he wasn’t there. The part about him losing memory doesn’t make sense as that would mean he somehow traveled to our world was adopted and raised by Subaru’s parents. But we know he was born in a world similar to ours as he looks like both his parents and can recount for his old life in that world with them. The only way for your theory to have more sway is if Subaru had died in a pervious life in Satella world and after 400yrs she was able to find her lover reincarnated as Subaru and brought him to her and that would play into him having no memories of her or her world. Yes it is his voice that said I will save you but he was saying it to Emilia as Satella possessed her. Edit: Spoiler (sorta) There is a what if story that Subaru’s runs away with Rem and even has a family with her. This only happens because Rem choose to leave with Subaru has he suggested and once she agrees he followed through and straight up leaves that country/kingdom.

I think that Emilia isn’t Satella, I think she just went insane from facing the trial. Emilia suffers greatly from her past, and you can see it from how she is while taking it. The one thing Subaru didn’t do in this loop was wake Emilia up. Instead he went to Echidna’s tea party. After the tea party, Emilia was gone. Just like how Subaru has the potential to become a sin archbishop, Emilia probably has the potential to be the witch of envy or a vessel for her.

Uff okay now ... I just watched EP 10 and I HAVE to get this out of my chest! 👀 Is Emilia-tan actually Satellas vessel ? Bc in EP 5 when subaru woke her from the trial she looked at Subaru clenching her teeth and telling him " It wasn't me! It wasn't and yet ..." "No, please don't look at me like that" . And when Subaru revealed Satellas face (which looks like a clone of Emilia-tan vise versa) she was looking at him crying and saying "AISHITERU" and "Pls love me back" ! And even tho Subaru just dumped Satella hard before saying he already got a number 1 & 2 he said he's gonna save her !? Is he even aware who he is talking to ? When he woke up again in EP 10 he couldn't look Emilia-tan into her eyes let alone touching her. And it seems she woke up at the same time as him. NOW I am aware that subaru reeks of the witch bc of his respawn power, BUT no one ever said he actually inherited her power as a vessel 🤔 so in that case it wouldn't be impossible for Emilia-tan to be connected with satella. I mean she was already hated by everyone bc she looks like her tho I'm not sure about her "witch" smell. It would also explain to me why satella is so obsessed with subaru bc he never neglected them from the beginning I guess. I don't think that Emilia-tan and Satella are the same person but rather Satella existing somehow inside of Emilia-tan. And since Subaru had that weird look on his face when he was cheering up Emilia-tan in the forest afterwards I think he already kinda knows what's going on. Reasons that made me come up with my theory: 1. the loli clones Echidna created. 2. Emilia-tan never revealed her secret. 3. Emilia-tan can't pass Echidnas test bc she can't forgive what happened in the past. 4. Edit: Posted too soon, he explains this, oh well. It is believed that the reason The Witch of Envy was able to manifest was because of him speaking so openly to Echidna about Return by Death, but she *is* still mostly sealed. What happened was Satella possessed Emilia's body since she was the only person who could handle it. Satella is still just a Soul with a trapped body, but her soul broke free from Subaru and took over Emelia instead. That is most likely why Subaru said "I will save you" to the Witch. It was because he realized it was Emelia being used by Satella to have a physical form. This is of course a theory, but a relatively sound one.

Reason why this happened in the first place is because Subaru revealed his return by death to echidona and she even knew this was all gonna happen so she did that thing with that cloth on his hand so when the witch of envy devoured Subaru in her shadows he could restart. I think that people forget that since early Season 1 it was constantly stated that Emilia bears a striking resemblance to Satella, The Witch of Envy. You should also note that this is the main reason that Emilia received so much hate and everyone resented her, because everyone had this idea of what Satella looked like and Emilia was that description personified.

I think this is what happend, I still firmly believe that Subaru and flugel are one and same person and same is Satella and Emilia HOWEVER I think that Satella split herself into two seperate being's one being her and other being Emilia. Same with Subaru when comes to Puck, Puck used to be a human and doesn't remember anything of his past life other then madly loving Emilia with all of his heart just like Subaru does and both their actions and personality are kinda the samething. Remember when Emilia pulled on Puck and Subaru ears during events of Arc 2? They literally ACT the same, they troll around the same way and they both LOVE giving nicknames to people like Subaru calls beatrice Beako where Puck calls Beatrice Betty and Puck calling Emilia "Lia" and Subaru calling Emilia "Emilia-tan" only difference is between puck and subaru on nick naming is when Subaru gets serious with Emilia he doesn't add in the tan. Puck stops calling Emilia (Emilia) and calls her by her name "Lia" which is I think Satella true name is actually Lia.

My theory Satella actually Emilia from another timeline which Subaru get punished in jail and frozen without dying so he cannot return by death and Satella travel to another timeline and manage isekai Subaru but he dead in day one. So Satella need to travel to another timeline where Subaru still alive which is this Episode 10 Season 2 Where Subaru still alive cause he just got restart from die from Killer Rabbit. So finally she manage to meet Subaru in alive condition but Subaru go suicide mode which made her sad cause it has been 35 episode to finally manage to meet alive Subaru

My theory is, what if satella is someone subaru help back in earth fall in love to him and got isekai but in the past 400 yrs in rezero world. Satella doesn't know anything in the rezero world and by the time past with the witch era she gain knowledge. She absorb the witch factor of envy knowing the she can have a power to manipulate time and somehow summon suburu from earth, but she not compatible with the witch factor of envy and got separate personality the witch of envy. In the process, she swallow the other witches and half of the world. And after time being after she got sealed by the sage dragon and sword saint she came back to herself as satella. And after so many years she summon her beloved subaru and gave him the return by death so he can live in the rezero world with her after she got free in the seal. Sorry for my bad english...
