Newsom fed up with LA County approach to homelessness, cleans up encampment himself

Governor Gavin Newsom steps up and gets his hands dirty, personally helping to clear a homeless encampment in LA County. "With all due respect, there's no more excuses... Where's the urgency?" he asked while helping clear a Mission Hills encampment. But his executive order to remove all encampments is sparking controversy. LA Mayor Karen Bass argues it criminalizes homelessness without offering real solutions, and the LA County Board of Supervisors refuses to use jails as housing. LA County Supervisor Kathryn Barger joins FOX 11 to respond.

The economy under Trump was the best we have had even during the pademic the economy under him nearly doubled the GDP's 70 year record. There were jobs, affordable housing, low taxes. California gets plenty of money but the counties do not what to do their part. Especially here in L.A. county. The mayor is useless. We have a lot of abandoned buildings that can be use for shelters. But no one seems to care. The mayor rather see them in the streets than for her to do her job She was elected to do. She simply does not care because she doesn’t have them in her area. Every time someone gets near her house she removes them and sends them to LA. I hope that Gavin does what he said and not give her any money. Let’s see if she is willing to get her ducks in a row.

How come they don’t make the homeless people clean up these places. They could pay them, offer some affordable housing so they’re off the streets themselves.
