I live in Ruidoso NM and we had bad fires in June. Fema gave people who had fire insurance 5k. They gave all the poor people who didn't (F.I. is insane $) 400 in EBT. That's it! Not a dime to actually help. The fires here started simultaneously in the worst possible locations up wind of the city. It's all very suspicious. I can promise you this though, no help is coming from the feds, they love this.

Highest property taxes in all 50 states is NJ. My heart breaks for all the people that are in the fire zones. Th anxiety is real. Water utility systems are designed to supply water to millions of homes through 1/4 inch tubes throught the house. They can accomodate a dozen trucks at a time that connect 4 inch hoses for a 12 hour period. They can also supply water to a hundred fire trucks for a limited time. I know from experience living in the South that when we go through a deep freeze everyone has to leave a faucet on at night to prevent the lines from freezing and when we do that the water pressure is very low because of all the lines being used simultaeously. The system recovers during the day when everyone closes those taps which gives the system's pumps time to refill the water towers.

Proper water supply and distribution. No water is a massive problem. 3. Cuts of $17.5 M to the fire department budget. 4. Giving all axillary/spare fire equipment to Ukraine. That would come in handy right now. 5. A fire chief more interested in DEI that planning, capability of staff, fire fighter training, preparedness and actually fighting fires. It is not you. As a northern Chinese, I can say this big fire is actually caused by American's living habits. I've had been lived in Europe for a while where is simlliar to north China. In Europe and China, people lives inside the houses or tall buildings which are built by concrete and steel, or at least lives in houses made by bricks, even in the area full of poor people such as country sides of China, people are still living inside the houses which are built by bricks and concretes. These kinds of house are not that easy to be destroyed by fire and unhelpful for fire to spreads. But when you look at the houses which Americans lives in, those basically are all built by woods, nor matter they are rich or poor, the houses they choose are always all kinds of wooden sheds. To tell the truth, it's really hard to believe that at current days and in such a country with all kinds of high techs of humankind, people are still making their houses by woods, which is not good for mother nature and their own safeties. If Americans starts to learn to build their houses by concrete or bricks, there will be much much less fire for them to suffer.

Sometimes there is a deck or balcony that is attached to the wall studs or a header anchored to the back wall of the house.
