Everything the club does is turned into a headline by these flogs. They’ve tried taking down Shane Richardson multiple times since he joined the club even though he’s just come in and gone about his work behind the scenes. They cried “conflict of interest” when we signed Faatape meanwhile the face of their show Anasta is a f***ing player agent, if that’s not a conflict of interest, idk what is. Idk why but Fox has had an agenda against the Tigers for years, as a fan I just want to go and watch my team play footy, all the headlines and media scrutiny is so tiresome.

What is clear from that discussion is that with the possible exception of Braith none of the panel have been inside a modern workplace, the very thought that someone working for 18 hrs a day is effective is ridiculous, there is a limit to the ability of humans to function at peak levels and 18 hrs is well beyond that. Good leaders and good mangers (BTW can’t be one without the other) know how to put the quality into the day. The hero leader stuff that Kent was spouting is as relevant to modern coaching as starting a biff to win a game was in the 80’s a thing of the past. Maybe time to get out of the newsroom and the 1980’s view of the workplace and see what’s happened over the last 40yrs.

if his coaching style works and improves the tigers immensely on and off the field especially the culture then credit to him but I doubt it considering the team he has taken over. with Benji's attitude it's bad already considering the tigers history, culture etc. getting an ex player to coach when he has played with a team or a good portion of the team is a bad idea and fitler is a perfect example of that when he took over. coaching as a "friend or mate" doesn't work.
