The new arrivals in Springfield appear to be legal. Are all of them legal? Hard to say out of 20,000 newcomers, but if they were troublesome, they would be making more crime than what we see. It appears that nearly all of them are wanting to be good citizens, and they are part of the melting pot now. Now, this doesn't mean that the government should flood the system with people that are unable to understand American English, because the result is that many will not know the city ordinances of not hunting ducks in the city park just because a few thousands of them are told of the ordinance. "Word of mouth" doesn't work totally, even with just five or six people, so we know it doesn't work with 20,000 people. The administrations failed the city. Now, its' time to do all that people can do to help the newcomers fit in and communicate with their fellow citizens.

They did; they always have. TPS was offered to Haitians after the earthquake, 2010. I’m of Haitian descent. My dad came as migrant farmer back in the 80s. They mostly populated Florida, New York and Massachusetts. Unfortunately the huge influx of migrants now is not beneficial to Americans or the migrants. A complete mess. My parents worked hard, assimilated into the American culture, worked, paid taxes, I was able to grow up in a stable household, get a great education etc etc. But that stuff is possible under normal immigration standards.
