Al was right on point with a boy having a male role model in the home, believe it or not, a lot of boys find their first identity through their male role models before they discover their own but they still keep some of the attributes from the first identity for the rest of their life. I am a prime example, my Grandfather was my role model, today at 48yrs old I still have some of his characteristics,. I am very similar to him. This was an excellent point!

That’s not what Q was saying. If the absence of a man makes you feminine how does one explain feminine men who have a father. Being masculine or feminine has nothing to do with sexuality. This logic also doesn’t explain masculine women. Will I am doesn’t want to be labeled gay so he uses the absence of his father for why he’s feminine when in fact it’s just who he is. If he was gay, pan, bi, asexual or straight, he would still be feminine because that’s just who he is.

I’m with Al also… both are kinda right just stating two different points. Funky needs to take sexuality out of the equation and he would understand. I’ll use myself for an example. My son is three. My wife usually takes him to the bathroom whenever we are out (I’ve had many knee surgeries and it’s much easier while on crutches) now that I’m kinda healed. I take my son.. he always sits on the toilet when he pees. Because he watches his mom. He didn’t have that male figure to watch and imitate. No matter what mom told him, he sees mom sit to pee. So he copies her. He’s never seen a urinal until now. Since I’ve taken over, he only stands to pee. He loves using the urinal… that’s a male influence. Yes moms can try and teach and kids can learn with moms. But there are no urinals in women’s bathrooms. It’s a man’s experience. I hope this makes sense. Lol

There are days that I get a cackle from Q, and others when it seems like he needs to unlock his better self a little quicker if he wants to maintain working with others. Fortunately, he has his own platform and fan base, because he might need to go chill with the Funky Bunch on his own. This is a great combo, but the dynamic is uncomfortable to watch at times. I hope the feedback is helpful for all. The last time I watched, it seemed like Al was being dismissed. I may be in the minority but I think the LGBTQ topics should be either limited or not discussed because Q seems to not be able to have any form of a nuanced conversation regarding such topics. He gets dismissive and can sound rather ignorant. I normally don’t agree with Al but today he made great points and to have Q try to override what he was saying to make it something else seems to be a trend. I genuinely think 5 days a week is wearing on Q. He’s gotten very combative, snarky, and dismissive.

100% agree with Al’s perspective on the masculinity conversation. Funky gets WAY too sensitive when it comes to these kind of conversations and becomes extremely closed minded and standoffish. It shows that he has a lot of pain and trauma around his own sense of masculinity that causes him to lash out in an ignorant seeming ways. Too many gay folks these days want complete validation of their experience and perspective, yet are way too willing to disregard any experience that doesn’t fit in their narrative of how they want the world to be instead of how it actually is.

Q, you are wrong on this one. A child being able to change their gender is much more damaging to that child when they are older, than letting a child parents and Government decide on how one should discipline their kid. As someone who has raised children and now a grandmother. Children change their minds daily, weekly, monthly, yearly. My 19 old daughter wanted to get married at 19. Now at 26 she is thanking me for talking her out of that. Why? Because what she wanted at 19, she is a whole different person at 26. (Thank God 😂, that heftier stressed me out around that time). The point is, such a major life changing decision like that needs to be made once an individual is an adult. And in my opinion not an 18 year old adult, but 25 and older.

@@twistedfenderchick I think she was specifically addressing surgery. I mean if youre gay youre gay. But you don’t have to be gay to be trans or viceversa. No disrespect intended. There was no decision in that, but if you feel the need to under go hormone therapy and gender reassignment surgery there is a decision in that which can have lasting effects and from what I understand irreversible. To her point we all me dumb decisions in adolescence, and I would thing most of us are glad that those decisions were permanent in nature 🤷🏽‍♀️

@@itsrissalicious-I agree no eight-year-old (just an example) should be getting gender assignment surgery that early. I think the appropriate age to discuss that about 16 or 17 in my opinion. Because at that point you know what your sexuality is. I do feel if they feel like they identify as a girl/boy they should be able to dress as one. But then again, that’s not my child. So I can’t really dictate with another parent does.

I took my 13 year old daughter to the doctor last week. I was asked to leave the room and in that time they talked to my daughter about her gender identity and asked did she feel that she was assigned the right gender at birth. I think this is what non-parents are missing. Parents who may not want these topics discussed to their child don’t have a choice in the matter. We discuss everything in our home, so this wasn’t an issue. However, I support parents having the right to decide what their children are being taught/asked/exposed to.
