I'm in the same boat with Al, I took care my mom with Dementia and it wore me out, I would scream and cry in my closet all the time because I knew she could not help it. She would feel bad and I would let her know just because I'm frustrated does not mean I don't love her dearly... My journey ended 3 months ago she is resting now..

Even with my step dad being a 100% veteran, which means I received a lot of help.....it was very draining.....he was dying for 3months.....but I promised him, that he would not die in a nursing,/rehab......I was beyond tired and depressed, but I kept my promise to him......He was a medic in the Army...went to Vietnam 3 times .

Al touched me talking about taking care of his mom with Alzheimers, that's such a tough job. I took care of my mom for a few months after she came home from the hospital post covid and by month 3 I was losing it, I can only imagine what Al went through. According to early childhood education, children that are spaced apart from five to seven years receive better care and attention from their parents. Superficial reasons for having children back to back to save on clothes, a stroller, etc.are not sound examples for starting a family too soon. Same with me. I took care of my mother with dementia for 7 years. The first 4-5 not so bad but yes it was a real journey. Lost her this past January and I miss her every day immensely. Wow you never know how many people struggle and go through. I took care of my mother who passed from cancer a father whome suffered 2 horrible strokes and was in a coma and my husband and what he went through at the same time. I was 217 pounds when it was over. Last summer i was 100 pounds even. I developed a eating problem and its the worst thing ever. Being there for my parents and husband was worth it. I completely sympathetic to people who take care of family.

Nessa girl, I distance self and told the person that his words were intentional and wickedly evil and I can't associate myself with them, even he was a friend of a friend who was part of our weekly brunch groups.
