I like it. I watched 2 games in 5 years so I’m super casual. It reminds me of people saying if the kickoff goes through the upright it should be worth a point. I liked that idea but it should have rules, you can only do it once per game and u can only have 8 men on the field. It’s a BIG risk, if u miss its likely a return TD

@ no, I’m not but I would consider it if they did what rob said. I’d watch those specific at bats. For a casual like me, I’d like it if there was a game within a game. Like pitch a no hitter inning earn one golden at bat. Pitch 3 innings no hitter have 3 golden at bats. Again, this is coming from a casual, it might ruin baseball 🤷‍♂️. Imagine having an ace pitcher and a Barry bonds. I bet Barry can get 2 golden at bats per game. Then again, I bet teams would bunt if there at risk just so bonds can get extra at bats

Bring on the golden at bat with one stipulation. If the player does not hit a home run, you lose the game on the spot. If the player walks, strikes out, singles, doubles, triples, grounds out, flies out or is hit by the pitch…..it is a walk off for the other team.

The only reason why I would allow this rule is if they intentionally walked that batter. See no other sport, allows you to pass on a great player but in baseball. Walk Babe Ruth, walk Ted Williams, walk Barry Bonds, walk Mantle. You can't do this in any other sport. So I feel they should be allowed to get their at bat back with a "golden at bat." Other than that I don't like it.

More of Manfred ruining the game. Where does it end with this guy. I thought forcing starters to go six innings was ridiculous, this tops that by a large margin. The pillar of baseball is the batting lineup. This would be a bastardization of the sport and a total and complete disrespect to its history. The greatest moments in sports history have all been organic. Many of the greatest moments involved unsung heroes who performed extra-ordinary when the occasion called for it. If you want to put this silliness in an All-Star game....fine. To put this in the regular and post seasons would essentially kill baseball. It would then become a beer league
