Thanks Tris, I am surprised by the lack of comments: In the Foxtrot , the walk is a slow and a trot is a quick; this is not presented anymore but from the 1920s when the Foxtrot started this was the expression.

Excellent video! I do have a question for you that I have really never heard directly addressed. In watching your demo it seemed to me that on your basic foxtrot moves (not the vines) that you were more or less reaching out on the 1 and stepping near the 2, did I see that right? Most teachers I have seen step on the 1 and brush on the 2, but the really high level people I have seen look to me as if they are hitting the floor on the 2 and that would make sense if you want to accent the 2's. Anyway, give me your thoughts on this if you would. Thanks!

Thank you! Yes, dancing a delayed walk is a more advanced movement and requires more control which is why you may not see new dancers doing it that way. That said, you may dance it either way - arriving on the 1 and brushing on 2 or delaying and arriving on the 2.

May I suggest that you have the music play once without your counts? I had a hard time to hear the music over your voice. Thank you.

I struggled here. Found it hard to hear the beats too!! Great job really but it assumed too much for the musically challenged. For me i needed slower explanation, slower music with an even more distinct beat. 😢
