I've been looking forward to rctw since it was announced.. then I saw how bad it flopped. Then I saw planet coaster, and was skeptical at first. Then I finally got to see what's truly possible and I gotta say, I'm impressed. I plan on getting this game soon :o

Just to add with #1 aka the refurbishment. Be sure you have the extra funds before you do so, you can get away with this on your flat rides but coasters i recommend not to risk it. Make sure to have X2 or even better X3 the cost it would take to refurbish the ride. The reasoning being you'll have to refund all the people already waiting in the line as they walk out of the line back on the normal paths, every single person will be refunded just like if the ride broke down just case the guest paid to enter the line doesn't mean they not entitled to a refund. Tho i think we all wish we could be a greedy company at times and not be forced to let guest have refunds but it is what it is. If you doing sandbox or something then yeah there is no worry just hit that button if needed.

how do u get the terrain to tunnel around a coaster, or other items, when I raise the land around it? I've tried every possibility w/ scenery lock and or surface lock.

You just gotta make sure you pull it far enough around the scenery object you're trying to cover. Everything has a collision capsule so the land will have to clear that. Maybe try making your brush bigger or else make sure you're pulling the land in the correct decision? Other than that I'm not sure what to say - I'd have to see what's going on to advise you further on that. Good luck!

Though I know what sort of rig I want to get - a high-end, dual-Xeon rendering rig which can also kick-arse with high fps in games, but by the time I can get the money for that, I'll be 72,... and Planet Coaster 30 will be out. **not at ALL amused face**

I'm playing on an older machine with a GTX 970 like you. The framerate dips when I have a park packed with people + a ton of scenery, but that's about it. If you buy the game through Steam, you get 2 hours of play time to decide whether to return it. Load up a big, detailed park from the Workshop, see how your rig handles it, and you've got your answer.
