My little brother killed himself two days ago and I totally by chance came across this song. I can't stop crying. We had a horrible relationship but had I known how dark his life had become, given the chance I would have been there for him in a heartbeat. I would give anything at this moment to have been given the opportunity to carry his burden. This song couldn't have entered my life at a more appropriate time. Rest in peace little brother. I love you and will always miss you.

I sent this song to my brother a few years ago. He had a terrible drinking problem since he was a teen and drugs too, but recently he got a DUI. He went to court and I was thinking of him and hoping and praying that something good will come out of it. He has always had suicidal tendencies and hated life. But thankfully, they offered rehab instead of jail time. He was in there for three months and now he’s sober as long as he’s ever been before. He’s only 28 and still has a long life to live. But this song gave me hope time I listen to it. This year, I’m reading messages from him than his obituary. I know this song resonates with a lot of people through different seasons of their life and different hurting. And I pray for you to that happiness again, and that whomever listens to this song, finds comfort. I really really am thankful for finding this music.

I wasn't expecting this song to release a flood of emotions. Life is beautiful but can be extremely difficult when faced with the trial/tribulations we all experience at some point. We aren't meant to walk the walk of life alone. My heart goes out to all those who feel the weight of these lyrics in this amazing song, for the loved ones lost, or stuggles you feel burdened by. God be with you, and I pray that as humans, we can all be more kind and loving towards each other. You never know what someone is going through. Love & Hugs to all!

I did not expect having this much replies ! Thank you everyone for the likes and the comments. I'd however like to clarify what I meant, so that nobody gets me wrong. I also feel that you can carry somebody else's burden for a silly reason, as dovid sokoi mentioned. Some people aren't responsible and will endlessly fall back down if you try to lift them up. No one should carry someone's burden in those situations, because no matter how much effort you put into it nothing will come out of it. Everything that you've tried to carry meant nothing and no one should feel that this has been the case with someone they've loved. On another hand, we all need some weight on our shoulders to enjoy life, but not too much. Too much can overwhelm someone. I believe that anyone of us can support someone who is in trouble. You may endorse the role that others cannot. You can teach what you have learned. Lend your physical strength to the one's who've lost it. I believe that this is how us humans grow strong, by helping each other. I hope this reply finds you all well.

Been threw alot in last decade. Lost the people that taught me so much about life my dear aunt, before that my grandfather to dementia I took care of him for three hard years then a really good friend that was like a older brother past because people have to be cruel, then I fought cancer on top of raising two girls that are just like me and my brother when we were kids. It's sad we grew distant over the years, but lately that's something I need to fix this song made me see that. Then what started the decade of ache was my grandmother passing and I wasn't around it killed me inside. She taught me music, art, and to express myself kinda set the strings aside for long time. This song helps so much right now and makes me revived. Thank you foy vance for giving a little bit a light in dismal time's you have the right words for people who dont. There is this strong attraction of obsessively needing to listen to this song over and over again. This version is divine. Emotionally, musically, vocally and filmically. It's filling something that I actually need to fill in myself... I know... but Foy is doing it for me for a while until I'm ready. Thank you for that! I'm happy the craftmanship hasn't died out yet. You give me hope. Go on brave man :)

Foy, thank you for sharing this song. I have a friend going through a very dark time in his life and our circle of friends have asked me to talk to him. And, I ask why me; we are all friends and they all say" You'll know what to say"! I ask myself "WTF"! Your song has given me clarity and the confidence to talk to my brother. I am sure as an artist you have no idea who you songs will touch or how they will be received. My friend with tears in my eyes "you are doing Gods work". Thank you for this song. Thank you!

This is the most beautiful l, heartfelt song I’ve ever heard. I cried so hard. I felt he was speaking to me. I needed this. I need someone to help carry my burden of drug addiction and being with an alcoholic and addict too. Wash away my stains

This song made me weep so much much. My Grandpa passed away 2 years ago, and I used to talk to him about everything. He helped me bare everything in this shitty life of mine. This song give me same feeling of talking to him again. Proof that music speaks to your soul. Thank you so much for this beautiful song.

For the love of God don't stop doing what you're doing. The world needs music like this. Music with passion, emotion. It is one of the only forces I know of that unites people regardless of situation, beliefs, or anything else. Music like this transcends our differences and reminds us that we're all human, struggling, hurting, and longing.

Great singer, saw him three months ago for the first time, his music is refreshing, makes me feel I am up in the mountains sitting by a running stream and relaxing, just the way I grew up in Grenada.

As my husband of 47 years lay in the ICU bed with all kinds of tubes and the respiratory therapist checking his intubation tubes and the ventilator machine to make sure it was working properly to keep my man alive. I set my cell phone to my Foy Vance playlist and put the phone next to his ear for him to hear Foy sing Burden and Guiding Light. As I felt these songs and would comfort him. Come morning when our son arrived we asked Richard " If it be his wish to to take God's hand and rest in peace that would be his choice." We said our very last goodbyes .We told all staff to leave his room to let Richard pass away in peace. He was my love and he gave me many years of joy ,love and years of happiness... 10-13 -2021 RIP MY Love

[Verse 1: Foy Vance] Let me carry your burden If something’s not right I will let you know Like the paint that’s drying on a heart that’s broke Let me carry your burden [Verse 2: Foy Vance] Get you back on a high when you’re feeling low When the weight’s too heavy but you won’t let go [Chorus: Foy Vance] Come to me my brother and I will sit with you awhile Pretty soon I’ll see you smile And you know you will No matter how much you are hurting right now You know that everything will change in time So let me carry your burden Let me carry your burden [Verse 3: Foy Vance] When your mouth’s on fire but your mind is cold And you’re fanning flames that won’t keep you warm [Chorus-Variation: Foy Vance] Come to me my brother and I will sit with you awhile Pretty soon I’ll see you smile And you know you will No matter how much you are hurting right now You know that everything will change in time Let me carry your burden, O brother mine Let me carry your burden [Verse 4: Foy Vance] Come tomorrow you’ll be right as rain It’ll quench your fire Wash away your stains [Chorus-Variation: Foy Vance] Come to me my brother and I will sit with you awhile Pretty soon I’ll see you smile And you know you will No matter how much you are hurting right now You know that everything will change in time [Outro: Foy Vance] Oh I just might see it in another light Got no dog here in the fight I could carry your burden O brother mine

Crazy how Foy can make music that sends you to the 40s but still be completely relevant now. He has a rustic sole. Lets charish it.
