The track is as exciting as it is dangerous. Never inagined such a fast track narrowed between walls and blind corners. It can be a double edged sword and I hope we will never have to regret the day F1 chose to race here.

We will absolutely regret it. At this stage of the championship, especially the ones fighting for the title will not be very keen on taking huge risks and make dangerous overtaking manouveres (basically any manouver in this case), so we'll just see a massive snooze festival. The race will be decided on the quali session and _maybe_ on the start of the race. And then that's it.

I said it when I first saw the layout of this track and I will say it again. F1 has great safety standards. But we all know that things can go wrong, they could on every track. Yea, if someone hits the wall in a high speed section in the early laps when the cars are close together it’s going to get bad fast. If they bounce back into the track where visibility is limited, lives will be decided by who has the quickest reflexes. In 2021, it seems silly to be racing on brand new tracks with this risk level. We have all the room in the world to build tracks with proper visibility and run-off so why take the risk? I hope everything goes well this weekend but I can’t see the race happening without at least one or two major incidents.
@ab8jeh
@ab8jeh 2 жыл бұрын
@frosty snow Montreal really doesn't have blind corners like this, maybe turns 6 or 7 but there are more generous run-off areas in there. It's also high risk, but in terms of probabilities nothing tops this track. I do get your point, but no this is over the line in my opinion. But ok, it's just an opinion. I'm not the one driving the car out there.

@Huzaifa Akram land, material and that sweet sweet oil money. Those are paid tracks, they are paying F1 to race in them, either straight up cash or incentives depending on the situation, to attract tourism and fans. That's normal. But that track also had to have some money to skirt over safety regulations, because it clearly doesn't pass them.

Ngl, kinda scared for this weekend GP, haven't felt like this in a while.
