I watched other videos and I noticed the clear plastic on the base of the pen which got me very confused thought I was doing it wrong thank you for pointing that out that we will not find it on our trulicity pens you've been a very big help

I was on viktoza for a year, not covered by insurance. It worked just fine, A1C in check. Had to switch to a different pharmacy and viktoza still not covered, but I couldn't get it anyway even if I paid for (which I was doing all along) thanks to brain dead insurer. Went without for a month. Had to switch to trulicity. First pen is busted straight out of the packaging and will not dispense. Thanks, cow-shit-for-brains insurance company and incompetent manufacturer. This video answered a couple questions and would have been helpful, had the ****ing pen worked.

What about cleaning the area on you skin that you will be using for the injection?

Use medical alcohol pads or if you have rubbing alcohol put it on some paper towel or a gauze and use that to clean it before and/or after.

I just did my first injection of trulicity I know the needle got me because I bled a little bit at the site however then I saw it dripping around my stomach & some of the medicine or fluid came out of the chamber my doctor started me on a low dose is this ok

At first sight of the needles, it looks threatening as it is LONG ! But after injecting i realised the device is calibrated to just inject a few millimeters below the skin so its not that bad. The only thing is that unlike injecting insulin where u can sort of ease the needle in, for this, u need to get use to pressing until the click sets in. Can get rather nervous first few times as u never quite know when it 'clicks'.

This is a little confuse Your video show you hold down the button till you hear the secound click BUT other video show holding the pen then click the button and the person release their finger while still holding the pen till they hear the secound click. WHICH WAY IS CORRECT ? THANK u

These injection pens are not to be feared - they are great! If straight from the fridge I often don't feel a thing - really! A little bead either of blood or clear will often remain after removing the pen - it is normal and should simply be wiped off - the injection has worked. The only thing not covered in this video is how hard to press the pen into the flesh before starting - I would say hold it firmly onto the skin but please don't think you have to dig it in - the needle will fire into the correct depth by itself. If held too loosely and you allow the pen to kick back when it fires you might have the accident of the needle not going in but I have never experienced that. Hold it on the spot firmly and keep it there still when pressing the green buttons. I get my 10 year old neice to inject me - it is good for her education and it does not hurt either of us - promise!

Using the Trulicity pen ISN'T an emergency like using an EpiPen. As with any ordinary injection, why isn't there an instruction here to first sanitize the planned injection site with isopropyl alcohol ???

It was great instruction right until the injection part, where she says after the second click lift. I did so and most of the liquid from what I could tell sprayed down my abdomen. So it seems after the second click and needle insert you have to hold. I guess I'll have to find out next week. Everything else was great. thanks.

Can you put the cap back on after use? This stuff is coming out of the refrigerator at 36-42deg F. Inject it 'cold' at 36-42, or let it warm up to room temp? Definitely wash hands and alcohol wipe before/after. I don't have sharp disposal so I'll throw them in the sharps at the doctors office when I go there.

my pharmacist told me that you should take them out of the fridge and let them get a little close to room temperature before injections. Also to put the pen with the cap down will waiting so the liquid will enter the body correctly. I'm starting this week. I hope you are doing ok

@@billiejohoward7443 I wish I could help you more, but thing this, try it for a couple of weeks and see how your body reacts. There is people doing ok with it, for me wasn't the best option. In Facebook you can find several support groups. Make sure the injection is room temperature, if you can, ask someone to put the first one for you.

Hi there, you can use the pen as soon as you remove it from fridge..its fine..You do not need to shake it...and yes, inject the same day every week..if you forget that day, take the next...

This medicine caused bad side effects for me, sugars averaged 40-70s before I was never under 90. Causes much peeing result, It caused my potassium levels to drop/dehydration and irregular heartbeat. Overall, you feel like crap and waste food. If you're sensitive to side effects, double your metformin before trying the pen. Was on it for 1.5 year.
